LOVE YOU, UNCLE

LYU 23

“Why are you so gloomy after marriage? Is your life not happy or what?”

After the lecture, Denisa immediately approached Ghea, who was still sitting in her seat. From a distance, it was clear that her friend was lost in thought.

“This morning, when I picked her up, she was silent the whole way. It was like talking to a wall,” Joshua complained. The man who was also Ghea’s friend and bestie was the one she asked to pick her up from home this morning.

“Why even ask if she’s happy or not? What do you guys think? Does anyone marry because of arranged marriages and become happy?”

“Yes!” Denisa and Joshua answered in unison. This made Ghea pout even more.

“Moreover, out there, beautiful girls are arranged to marry an older but wealthy guy. They live happily. It seems like you’re the weird one here. Arranged to a nearly perfect guy, but it feels like a disaster.”

Ghea sighed deeply. Of course, this was a disaster. She never dreamed of getting married because of an arranged marriage.

“Actually, my dream was to marry a mixed-race guy, you know. So that I can improve the lineage. So that my child’s eyes aren’t too slanted. Like Richard, for example. Handsome, right?”

“Like Rio, too?” Denisa added spontaneously. “He’s German mixed. And it seems like besides being obsessed with white guys, you’re also obsessed with guys whose names start with ‘R.’ Just look, Richard, Rio, oh, got a husband named Randy.”

“But he’s not white! He’s a crocodile hybrid.”

“What’s the difference from Rio?”

“Clearly different,” Ghea defended herself.

“What’s different? If it’s about quality, Randy is more quality. From the many women who were in line, you became the Queen. Until now, there has never been any news of him cheating. On the contrary, if there’s an odd human in the world, it’s you, Ghea.”

Ghea rolled her eyes. Why was everyone siding with Randy?

“If you like him, you be his wife.”

“Even if it’s not a friend, I don’t mind being a third party in your relationship. After all, this is Randy we’re talking about. Imagine, Randy -”

“Walters,” Ghea continued. “I’m tired of hearing that name. Enough, don’t mention him again. It just makes me more annoyed. Let’s just go home now. It’s already late.”

Denisa sighed, while Joshua could only shake his head. Not wanting this debate to go any further, they all agreed to end it and chose to go home.

However, just as they arrived at the lobby and were about to walk to the parking lot, Ghea was surprised by Randy’s presence, who seemed to have been waiting for a while. Still in his work suit and sunglasses covering his eyes, he leaned against the car, occasionally looking around.

“Darling!”

What did Ghea say? Just as she was about to run away, her husband had already found her. What’s worse, Denisa and Joshua were both pulling her towards him.

“Why did you come here? I’m still angry with you, you know?”

“Well, I want to pick up my wife, dear. My parents asked us to stop by their house. Instead of you being taken by another guy like this morning, it’s better if I quickly pick you up.”

Joshua scratched his neck awkwardly. It wasn’t pleasant because he had picked up Ghea this morning without permission.

“Um, bro…” Joshua stuttered. “I was the one who picked up Ghea this morning. But, don’t misunderstand. Ghea and I are just friends, okay? The three of us, me, Ghea, and Denisa, have known each other since high school. Again, I apologize.”

Randy smiled and nodded. No longer worried after knowing that the person who picked up his wife wasn’t someone to be wary of.

“It’s okay. Thanks for helping pick up Ghea. Because it’s getting late, I’ll take my leave now. I’m afraid of getting stuck in traffic.”

Without waiting for Ghea’s approval, Randy gently took Ghea’s wrist, then asked his wife to get into the car. Unable to resist any longer, Ghea finally agreed to go along.

Throughout the way to Randy’s parents’ house, they remained silent. Randy didn’t force his wife to talk, not wanting to make her more angry or uncomfortable.Còntens bel0ngs to Nô(v)elDr/a/ma.Org

Shortly after, the car Randy was driving arrived at their destination. Both of them walked side by side, and when they entered, they were warmly welcomed by Verona.

“Darling….” greeted the beautiful woman, stretching out both hands. Instead of hugging Randy, Verona chose to approach Ghea. She hugged her affectionately while asking many questions.

“How are you? Are you healthy?”

“Ghea is healthy, Mom.”

“How’s at home? Is Randy treating you well?”

“So far, so good, Mom,” Ghea chatted. In reality, she wanted to complain that her husband was so mischievous and often bothered her. But would it sound too childish if she said that?

“Good then. If he does anything, just report it to Mama.”

Ghea nodded, then immediately was ushered by Verona to the dining room. The purpose was to call her son and daughter-in-law to have dinner together. Even though they were married, Verona wanted to maintain the intimacy among family members as much as possible. She didn’t want them to forget to meet each other just because they had their own busy lives.

“How’s your work, Ran? Any challenges?” Adrian asked as they enjoyed dinner.

“So far, so good, Dad. All the deadlines have been met. If Akasia wants to appoint a leader as soon as possible, Randy is ready.”

Verona sighed. It couldn’t be that easy.

“And, now that you’re married, when are you going on your honeymoon? How can you have children if each of you is busy?”

“Mom…” Randy called out quickly. “You know, in the near future, we can’t go on a honeymoon because both Randy and Ghea already have schedules. Besides, if we just want to make out, we don’t need to wait for the honeymoon. Every night, every moment, even at home, Ma.”

“But, it’s been a few days since you got married, are things going smoothly between you two?”

Ghea immediately choked on the water she was drinking. Seconds later, she threw a gaze at Randy, waiting for assistance on how to answer.

“Why are you so curious about Randy and Ghea’s bedroom affairs, Mom? Just relax. If it’s destined, we’ll have children, and we’ll give Mom and Dad grandchildren.”

From the beginning, Randy hadn’t told his parents about Ghea postponing having children, citing wanting to finish her studies first. If his parents found out, it could lead to a complicated situation.

Meanwhile, Verona seemed to rise from her seat. She walked towards one of the side tables in the dining room, then took out a bottle of pills, picking up about two of them.

Once sure, she brought the pills to Randy.

“Open your mouth,” Verona instructed.

“What are you doing, Mom?”

“Just open it quickly.”

Randy couldn’t refuse. He opened his mouth, allowing his mother to put one pill, the purpose of which he didn’t know, into his mouth.

“Now, swallow,” Verona ordered, offering a glass of water. After that, she turned to Ghea.

“You too, Ghe. Come on, open your mouth.”

“F-for what, Mom?”

“For taking this pill.”

“B-but.”

“No need to be afraid. It’s not poison. Come on, open up, aaaa.”

In the end, Ghea couldn’t resist. The same goes for Randy. She took the pill offered by her mother-in-law.

“Well then. Since the dinner session is over, you two should go home quickly. It’s dangerous if the medicine reacts while you’re still in the car.”

“What kind of medicine did Mom give us?” Randy asked curiously. He became anxious after hearing his mother’s words.

“Well… maybe it’s an aphrodisiac. That’s why, go home quickly,” Verona replied casually.

“Huh?”
