LYU 15
Since it’s still the post-wedding vacation, this evening, Randy deliberately took Ghea to visit his parents’ house. Moreover, there was an event tonight for welcoming the new daughter-in-law and the new member of the extended Walters family.
Actually, Ghea is usually lazy to attend parties like this. But considering she had no authority to refuse and it seemed obligatory as a new member, she surrendered and complied with what Randy had ordered.
“Why are you still daydreaming?” Ghea sighed. She wasn’t sure what she was thinking about this time.
“I’m thinking, Uncle.”
“Thinking about what? National debt?”
“Not exactly.”
“Then what? Why are you so confused? Hurry up, change your clothes and get ready. We need to be on our way by six, or we’ll get stuck in traffic.”
Ghea grumbled irritably. Couldn’t Randy be a bit more sensitive to what she might be thinking, enough to be silent like this?
“How can I go like this? What should I wear to the meeting?”
“Oh my… So, you’ve been silent and pondering because you’re confused about what to wear?”
Ghea nodded slowly. Meanwhile, Randy shook his head at the behavior of the girl who had officially become his wife. He thought there might be something that made Ghea uncomfortable or unwilling to go with him.
Curious, but basically, women are like that with all their behavior. Always troubled by cliché things. If it’s not about makeup, it’s about clothes. Sometimes, even if they have a lot of clothes, they claim they don’t.
Then, a moment later, Randy grabbed Ghea’s wrist as she sat on the edge of the bed. With a little force, he invited his wife to step with him towards the walk-in closet.
“Why, haven’t all your necessities been fulfilled in the wardrobe? Didn’t Sandra tell you?”
“Fulfilled?”
“Yes,” Randy nodded. Then he opened one of the closets apparently intended specifically for his wife. “See,” he pointed out. “Just so you know, everything from clothes, party dresses, bags, shoes, and other things are all prepared there. Not to mention, even underwear and bras, I’ve got them ready.”
Ghea glared. Then, after a short scan, she threw a glance, scrutinizing the various clothes and items of various shapes and colors that her husband had prepared for her.
But wait a minute. Something suddenly felt uncomfortable in Ghea’s mind, and she wanted to clarify it immediately.
“Wait a minute, Uncle. By the way, about bras and underwear. You’re quite confident in preparing them for me. Do you know what size I wear?”
Randy nodded.
“I know. Just one look, and I can predict. For underwear size, you must be wearing a Small, right?”
This time, Ghea reflexively nodded. Her husband’s guess was correct. But, on second thought, for underwear size, it didn’t seem difficult to determine. It could be predicted by looking at the user’s hip size.
“As for the bra, I guess you’re wearing a size 32?” Randy continued.
“Yeah, wrong!”
“Really?”
Ghea nodded, then without hesitation replied, “I wear size 34, not 32. You’re just pretending to know.”
Instead of agreeing, Randy seemed skeptical. Just from his facial expression, it was clear that he didn’t believe her. As if what Ghea had just said was an unbelievable piece of news that couldn’t be trusted without seeing the evidence first.
“Seriously, 34? It’s not convincing.”
“Say 34, I don’t believe it.”
“Big, though,” Randy said. “But I still don’t believe it without checking directly.”
Ghea immediately grunted. Basically, it was a ploy; her husband seemed to never run out of ideas to continue teasing her.
“Hmm, you’re shameless. Like I’d let you check directly. It won’t happen!”
Randy burst into laughter. Even before anything happened, his effort had already been read by his wife.
“Well, hurry up and change your clothes. Seriously, we’re going to be late because you’ve been making a fuss about your clothes. Now, change quickly. Or do you want me to help you?”
Ghea frowned again. Bringing her hand, she waved, signaling for Randy to leave the walk-in closet.
While Ghea changed her clothes, Randy, without wasting much time, put on his shoes and checked his appearance again. After waiting for almost thirty minutes, Ghea finished changing clothes and putting on makeup. They both then hurried to go to Randy’s parents’ house.
“Finally, the newlyweds are here,” Darwin greeted when Randy and Ghea arrived at their destination and immediately joined the ongoing event.Text content © NôvelDrama.Org.
It was clear that the entire extended Walters family was present to liven up the welcoming event. Like a new member in a group, Ghea was immediately led into the midst of the crowd. Around her, the core family gathered, each holding a glass of wine in their hands.
“Let’s all here together welcome Ghea, who from this moment on becomes part of the Walters family.”
Verona, standing in her place, raised her glass. Inviting all the guests in front of her to toast together as a form of respect for Ghea joining their extended family.
“Stay comfortable being Randy’s wife, dear,” Verona said after toasting. Intentionally approaching Ghea, she then gave a warm hug to her daughter-in-law. Even, for a moment, she took Ghea around to greet each senior family member personally. “If Randy misbehaves, just tell Mama and Papa. We’ll handle him.”
Ghea nodded while unwrapping the hug. Actually, if you look and pay attention, Randy’s extended family seemed very loving and positive. Quite different from the picture of her father’s extended family so far.
Ah, but maybe she had never been considered in her father’s extended family because she was the result of an illicit relationship. That’s why she was reluctant to expect too much.
“Yes, Ma. If anything happens, Ghea will tell Mama right away.”
“Why does Ghea have so many bodyguards? It’s like I’m a criminal being watched,” Randy complained half-protesting. Eventually, he seemed like the stepchild. Because since he arrived, only Ghea had been continuously paid attention to by everyone.
“Well, who knows, you might misbehave,” Verona replied.
“Randy has never misbehaved, Ma. Have you ever seen Randy do something outrageous or embarrass the family in your entire life? Never, right?”
Verona had to admit this. Despite being the type of child who liked to protest, in the end, Randy always obeyed what was ordered of him.
Often mischievous, but her son never once caused trouble, let alone embarrassed the extended family. That’s why Verona was so grateful because God had entrusted her with a son as good, as smart, and as understanding as Randy.
“Anyway, Mama doesn’t want to hear you misbehave, let alone disappoint your wife. And most importantly, hurry up and have a child while there’s still time to make it happen.”
“But, Ma… Ghea and —-”
“Done, Ma,” Randy interrupted when Ghea seemed to want to object to his mother’s request. It could take a long time if both of them didn’t agree to their mother’s request. “Let’s leave everything to God. What’s certain is that Randy and Ghea won’t delay. It’s up to God when. If it’s fast, thank God. If it’s slow, well, keep trying,” explained Randy, finally making Verona look calm and happy.
