I've gotten over her
I've gotten over her
Jayden sighed, as he watched the scenery through the window. He just landed in Washington DC. 'It's been a while.' He sighed to himself again. ........................ Khloe was startled, when she heard the doorbell ring. She raced to the door, and opened the door. However, when she opened the door, she was surprised by who was standing at her doorstep. But, the surprise didn't last for long, "Jayden?" Her voice was slightly emotional as she pounced on him. How long had it been since she had seen this friend of hers?? "Khloe." Jayden said in an emotion laden voice. He had missed all of them so much. "Hey... Stop it. We aren't acting a tragic drama here." Khloe smiled, although her eyes were reddened. "You started it." Jayden shrugged. "Let's go in." She opened the door widely and both of them went inside. "What do I serve you? Brandy, or whiskey?" She smiled. Jayden didn't respond. He got up and directly walked over to Khloe's mini bar. "I'm not a stranger, why are you treating me like one?" Jayden laughed lightly as he took out a bottle of wine. Khloe headed to the kitchen and came back with two glasses. "To celebrate your return." Khloe smiled. "Of course..." He poured the wine into the glasses and placed the bottle on the table. "Here's to your return." Khloe clinked glasses with Jayden and they smiled. "So, how have you been? We lost contact with you for sometime." Khloe frowned. "I'm sorry about that, I will explain later."Jayden apologized. "Well, that's by the way. Why did you come back?" Khloe placed her glass on the table, and looked at him.
"I missed you guys so much. So, I had to come back. Want me to go back?" Jayden smirked. "If you want to. You can't fool me Jayden. Why did you come back?" Khloe shrugged. "I can't seem to fool you, can I?" Jayden chuckled. "Are you back because of Arianna?" Khloe asked softly. "Have you spoken with Quinn lately? I can't contact her." Jayden got up from the sofa and turned his back to Khloe. Khloe sighed. She knew he was trying to avoid any topic that concerned Arianna. "Do you want me to organize a get-together between us?" Khloe suggested. Jayden shook his head, "No. It's fine." Jayden smiled. "So, what are you really back to do?" Khloe continued pestering him. "Hey... That's enough. I've forgotten that you love to nag." Jayden chuckled. "Let's head to the kitchen? It's been long I ate your food." Khloe rubbed her hands together. "Teasing me right?" He chuckled. "Whatever you see it as..." Khloe shrugged. They were both silent for a while; each waiting for the other to speak. "Do you still like her?" Khloe asked after a while. "Who?" Jayden asked in pretence. "Come off it... You know who I'm talking about." Khloe said looking at him closely. "I think I've gotten over her." Jayden said softly. "Think? You don't know?" Khloe continued. "Khloe... You know very well how much I love Ari. I love her so much and you know I'm not faking it. After I left, I thought I could easily forget about her, but..." He paused as his voice cracked. "Hey... Stop making me feel emotional.." Khloe teased. "I'm not sure if I can control my feelings if I see her once again." Jayden sniffed. Khloe's expression became serious. Arianna was Jayden's first love. Naturally, it would be quite hard for him to forget his feelings about her. Even if he tried to, she knew he couldn't... "I'm sorry if I said something I shouldn't have..." Khloe apologized. "Nah... I should be the one apologizing to you." Jayden chuckled. "Are you staying at your previous apartment?" Khloe asked, as she poured herself another glass of wine. "I'm renting a new place. I don't want to stay there anymore." Jayden leaned back on the seat. "Well... I think there are vacant apartments in the newly constructed building close to your previous apartment." Khloe took a sip of her wine. "Well, I don't think I will. I don't like new buildings." Jayden turned down her suggestion. "Okay... Arianna told me she loved staying there though." Khloe continued slyly. Jayden's interest was piqued, "Ari lives there?" He tried not to sound too inquisitive. However, Khloe had seen through him. She laughed, "Yes... Top floor." She smiled. ==≠==================== Henry hummed a tune as he drove to the airport. He wanted to fly to Washington DC. He needed to meet the Stones. He knew he was taking a risky step, but he knew that if he continued lagging, Quinn would slip from his fingers like fine sand. It was now or never! Didn't he watch in movies, how in-laws were pleased with bold son-in-laws? Maybe if he was a little bit bolder than he was now, maybe, just maybe he could stand a chance. 'Ring.... ringggg' Just then his phone rang. Henry smiled when he saw the caller ID. It was Quinn... "Hello? Where are you?" She asked immediately he picked up. "In my office." Henry lied blatantly. "But .... Well, nevermind. I called to inform you that I wouldn't be coming home early." Quinn said.
Henry chuckled. He could hear sounds of flipping documents at the background. She was obviously busy. "Alright... But don't forget to eat. Once you are done, call me. I will come over and pick you." Henry said. "Okay, I will. Bye." She hung up. Henry threw the phone on the passenger's seat. He was feeling warm and fuzzy all over. They were already behaving like married couples, weren't they? She called him, because she was afraid that he would be worried if she didn't arrive early, right? That was already a good start. At least, she cared about him. ....................................... Washington DC. Henry's heart was palpitating as he drove to the Stones family residence. He was beginning to regret being so impulsive. Why didn't he inform Quinn? 'Well.... I'm already here. The best I can do is behave well, and create a good first impression.' He thought silently. Soon, he got to the gates. The giant gates, stood majestically. He honked, and the gates opened automatically. 'What the fuck?'
