Love or Leave Behind Chapter 23
At that moment, Samuel suddenly appeared and snatched the child away. No matter how much shelmaine cried and shouted, he didn’t burn around and just walked off with the baby.
shelmaine woke up crying in the middle of the night. The first thing she did was touch her abdomen, making sure that everything she had just experienced was a nightmare and
noted.
She was drenched in cold sweat
When she glanced at her phone, she saw that it was just past 3.00 am.
It was still early, and she couldn’t fall back asleep. She tossed and turned, worrying about what Samuel would think if he ever found out that she was pregnant.
He definitelywouldn’t want the child, and Shelmaine didn’t want him to either.
This was her child, and she wouldn’t let him know. Absolutely not.
That night, Natasha had arranged a dinner with Samue
After they had eaten for a while, Natasha noticed that Samuel had put down his curleries and was staring at his phone.
He was frowning as if something was troubling him.
His attention was entirely on the phone, and he hadn’t spoken a word to her since they sat down. She felt invisible.
She seemed to realize something and slowly asked, “Samuel. Is there something wrong with the food?”
Samuel didn’t look up from his phone and simply replied, “Mm.”
“Do you not like beer? I ordered dishes according to your previous preferences.” It was unusual for him to dislike the food
Having grown up abroad, Samuel was particular about many things, but he had always liked dishes like steak. Even wine was something he usually enjoyed Natasha had put a lot of effort into this dinner. Yet, Samuel had barely glanced at the dishes and only reluctantly ate a few bites.
In truth, Samuel couldn’t get used to it and found himself missing the home–cooked meals that Shelmaine used to make.
Even though Shelmaine was busy with work and rarely cooked, she’d always prepare a dish whenever they were at home.
So now, he was suddenly not used to this. All content © N/.ôvel/Dr/ama.Org.
Samuel had to admit that Shelmaine was very understanding, gentle, and considerate. During their years of marriage, they had never even argued.
Upon noticing his distracted state, Natasha cautiously asked, “Sammy, are you alright? What are you thinking about?”
“Nothing,” Samuel simply replied.
*Should we order something else? I’m sorry if you don’t like these dishes.” Natasha also lost her appetite. “Maybe next time we should cook at home. I’ll do the cooking, alright?” “Wouldn’t you burn the kitchen down? Samuel half–jokingly said
“Who are you looking down on? How could I possibly burn the lachen down!” Natasha poured and said in a playful tone, “Don’t treat me like a child. I’m not that young anymore
Samuel rarely smiled, but he did this time. He said, “Aren’t you always a child?”
“That’s not true. You’re only a few years older than me. I’m not going to let you think of me as a child anymore!” Natasha said with a hint of frustration.
“I’m a mature woman now, Sammy.” She bit her lip, and her eyes softened as she looked at Samuel
She continued, “Sammy, the other day Madam Foster called and asked about our marriage..
As Natasha brought the topic up, she lowered her head, and her cheeks flushed with a hint of embarrassment. It was awloward for her to bring it up herself. They were arranged to be together by their families
tuntil Samuel actually divorced and ended up with her that she felt completely reassured. She’d even started
At first, Natsha had thought that it was just a dream, but it wasn’t u imagining their life together after marriage.
After a long pause, Samuel finally said, “For Peter’s sake, I’ll take care of you no matter what.”
Itis Inne was somewhat cold, but Natasha’s heart leaped with joy at his promise
