with her head dipped low, Clarissa sakl, “Grandpa, I don’t have the appetite for dinner today. l’ll be
huling up first.”
“What’s wrong with Clarissa?”Grandpa Lawrence asked Damien the instant Clarissa left.
Al the moment, there were only the two of them on the dining table,
Damien found it odd that nobody was talking at the table, and that alloneruime was so silent.
“Job-related stress,” hic finally replied. “Well, why didn’t you help her?” Grandpa Lawrence barked
angrily.
Damien couldn’t tell his grandfather that he was the mastermind who instigated the entire thin, and the
chic reason behind Clarissa’s sorrow.
“You have to cook dinner for her later!”
“Grandpa!” Damicii flared at his grandfather, reluctant.
“Just do it!” His grandfather, informately, wasi’ like his employees, who would usually cower with fear
with just a flare from Damieu. The old man continued fiercely, “Do it now! I’m worried about Clarissa.
Shellas to cal something for dinner”
Helpless, Damien headed to the kitchen and cooked a bowl of noodles (or lier with an elas a sicle.
if it was in the past. Damien would never live swallowed luis pride for a
cre woman.
But now, he even made sure to get rider the cle yolk before asking Mrs. Faber to send the noodles up
to Clarissa.
Clarissa was currently reading through her workbook at her desk. Every time she came back home,
she wouldn’t bring the books Joseph gifted hier to avoid unnecessary trouble. The only book she
brought home was the workbook she bought at The Owlery.
She held her book tightly, but she couldn’t locus no matter how hard she tried.
Right at this moment, Mrs, Faber arrived and served lier a bowl of noodles. “Mr. Lawrence made this
specifically for you.
“He made it for me?” Clarissa didn’t believe a word Mrs. Faber said.
“This is the first time I’ve seen Mr. Lawrence cooking in the kitchen. You should cal up.”
Clarissa didn’t want to cat dinner, but she felt bad for rejecting, Damien’s gesture. lle must’ve felt awrul
lor not being able to help her.
After she cut the egg, she realized that the yolk was gone. Damien’s attention to detail moved her
deeply, and it reminded her of her own father. When she was young, her father would make ber
noodles every time she requested them.
Her father used to boil the ece until it was fully cooked. Then, he would cut il open, remov the egg yolk,
and stuff some stir-fried vegetables and meat inside the empty space. Finally, b
would place the ccc inside the bowl of noodles and serve it to Clarissa. Although Damien didn’t do
exactly that, Clarissa was still deeply moved that he remembered her allergy for ecc yolks. While
gulping the noodles, tears streamed down her face
She missed her father so, so much.
Though her father had passed on, he had always been by her side. Downstairs, Damien sent a
Whatsapp message to HR.
Damien: (Make sure to vacate the assistant post in the audit department.)
[Alright.)
After that, he went upstairs.
“Have you finished your dinner?” Damien asked.
“Yes, I have. Thank you.” Clarissa was pleased by his gesture.
“Grandpa was the one who made it for you, not me,” Damien said, rather deadpan. Still, Clarissa felt
grateful for him. When she saw Damien standing beside her, she couldn’t · help but hug his waist even
though her mouth filled with grease right after having dinner. She heaved in his scent, which smelled so
much different than that of her father. Clarissa was infatuated with his scent, which reflected his mature
and domineering charisma
Looking into his eyes, she could no longer hold in her tears anymore.
Letting her cheeks lean against his waist, she tried her hardest to restrain her sobs but failed miserably.
Yearning for a release, she cut loose of her emotions and sobbed uncontrollably.
Damien frowned. “Why are you crying again?”
“I’m sorry, I can’t help it. I’ll stop now. I won’t cry anymore.” Clarissa let go of him and wiped off her
tears once more.
She didn’t know that the grease on lier mouth had stained his clothes.
“Clarissa…” Damien looked down at his dirtied shirt, gritting his teeth.
Noticing that she had wrinkled his nice and clean clothes, Clarissa stood up immediately and said,
“Don’t be angry. I’ll wash them for you.”
While she spoke, she stood in front of Damien and started unbuttoning his shirt.
With her face filled with tear stains and messy hair, she lowered her head and muttered under her
breath, “It’s not like I did it on purpose. Why are you so angry?”
She started off from the lowest button and made her way up to the highest one.
Looking at Damien’s body, she felt a rush of embarrassment. Her cheeks and ears flared red. Damien
remembered that she used to feel embarrassed the last time she saw him changing.
Why hadn’t she gotten used to seeing him naked? Her reactions seemed to imply that she was still a
virgin.
However, she wasn’t a virgin anymore. After all, he had given her virginity to him.

Damien found her shy reactions oddly amusing. So, he spread out his arms and asked Clarissa to
change into a new set of clothes for him. Original from NôvelDrama.Org.
“Help me change,” he demanded, standing rooted to the ground. She was in the middle of putting his
clothes into the basin, so she replied, “Okay, give me a minute.”
‘Why is he asking me to do it for him?’ she wondered.
She put the stained clothes into a bucket, threw in some detergent, and waited for the bucket to be
filled with water. “I’m still naked, you know?” Damien shouted from outside. “Give me a minute! I’m
filling the bucket!” Clarissa sounded reluctant to help him. After a while, she got out of the bathroom
and searched through his closet. Then, she reached for one of his navy blue T-shirts and put it on him.
Damien looked good in that shirt. Then again, he was like a mannequin. He would look good in
whatever he wore.
“Are you warm now?” Clarissa looked up and asked. Damien adjusted his collar and said, “Yes.”
Clarissa thought, ‘I still don’t understand why he can’t do it himself.”
