Chapter 485
Chapter 485 Roman and Jerry Work Together "Which Mr. Jerry?" Ronian was baffled.
"Mr. Jerry Felton from the Felton family. He... He is standing at the door right now. He is still alive!"
The more Ronian listened, the more he frowned.
He sat up and prepared to stand up.
But he was held back by the pain from his arms and thighs. Ronian endured the pain and ordered, "Let him in."
When everyone in the dining room saw Jerry, they were all shocked.
Jennifer was the most excited, and her eyes were filled with tears when she saw Jerry.
"Jerry, is it really you? You are not dead?"
"I was lucky enough to survive," Jerry said with a smile in his eyes.
"Ronian, Konner." Jerry looked at Ronian and Konner.
Konner nodded stiffly.
Ronian had no expression on his face. He was the calmest.
He stirred the soup in the bowl, and a crisp sound was heard when the porcelain spoon hit the porcelain bowl. He asked solemnly, "Since you haven't died, why didn't you send a message to us this year? Do you have your family in your eyes?"
Jerry lowered his head in guilt and said obediently, "I'm sorry. In order to survive, I had to hide this year. I am sorry to let you worry about me."
"Forget it. It's good that you're back. Have you had dinner yet?" Ronian felt a lot better.
"No."
Ronian glanced at the servant next to him and said, "Prepare the knife and fork for Mr. Jerry."
"No." Jerry refused.
Jerry's long eyes were exceptionally deep, and he stared at Ronian.
"Ronian, I have something to discuss with you. Can we have a talk alone?"
Ronian looked at him and keenly sensed something unusual in Jerry's eyes.
However, Ronian had been exhausted and sore these past two days, and he could not get up at all.
After some deliberation, Ronian looked at Konner and Jennifer, who had bitter faces and no appetite.
"Why do you have those looks? Don't you have an appetite? Go back to your rooms and don't disturb me."
"Yes." Konner and Jennifer stood up in unison and hurriedly left the dining room, not wanting to stay any longer.
Ronian drove the servants and housekeeper away as well.
In just a minute, only Jerry and Ronian were left in the huge dining room.
Jerry bypassed the long dining table and walked to the empty space next to Ronian's dining chair. But he did not sit down and stood beside Ronian with respect.
Ronian was very satisfied with Jerry's behavior and softened his tone as he said, "Tell me what has happened."
Jerry had a cold look, and his tone was calm as he slowly narrated his experience.
"A year ago, Ormand brought a cross-country hunting order to arrest me at my wedding with Viola, and he forced Viola to shoot me."
Ronian knocked on the table impatiently and said, "I know about this. I want to know how you escaped from Ormand."
"But Viola didn't bear to shoot me. Her bullet didn't hit my heart, but Ormand didn't know about that and thought I was dead, so he had someone throw me on a nearby mountain. He didn't even bury me. He wanted my body to be eaten by wild wolves and dogs."
Ronian sneered, "It's Ormand's style."
Ronian looked down without any expression on his face.
Jerry continued to say, "Maybe I was lucky and was saved by a hunter on the mountain. Later, my mother was angry and asked to sue Viola in the International Court. Ormand once sent people to the mountain to search for my body. I escaped from Portugal overnight. For the past year, I wandered around in several poor countries and lived under an assumed name. I made a living by being a teacher in the countryside."
Ronian listened quietly. He was very satisfied with Jerry's experience and sighed with pity. Please check at N/ôvel(D)rama.Org.
"I'm sorry to hear that. You're so handsome, so good at fighting, and so well-educated. But you have been framed by Ormand to this extent. My heart ached when I heard about your experience."
Jerry gave a bitter smile. "I felt better when 1 heard your concern, and it is worth coining back even if I will be discovered by Ormand."
Ronian nodded at the seat next to him and gestured for Jerry to sit.
Perhaps Ronian was happy to hear that Jerry had been tortured by Ormand, and he subconsciously treated Jerry a little more gently.
"Thankyou, Ronian." Jerry sat down.
Ronian said, "Do you have any plans after you come back? Ormand was so crude to you. He is doing well in his career and love. Are you jealous?"
"Of course!"
Jerry clenched his fists with hatred in his eyes.
"Ronian, I came back this time because I need your help. Ormand stole my woman, causing me to lose everything and suffer all kinds of pain. I can't even go back home. I have to kill him to vent my anger!
"As long as you are willing to help me, I will only listen to you, and
I will do my best to do what you ask me to do, even if it will put my life at risk!"
Ronian stirred the soup while listening to Jerry with interest. After thinking for a moment, he looked embarrassed.
"Jerry, I really want to help you, but I was suspended by Ormand and can't work in the National Bureau of Investigation now. I can only stay at home and wait for the investigation and notice. I really want to help you, but I can't."
"Ormand actually dealt with you?"
Jerry gnashed his teeth as he read the name, and his eyes were filled with hatred and bitterness.
"Ronian, you have been a deputy director for so long. Don't you want to take Ormand's place and step on him? Don't you want to take back the right that belongs to you?"
Ronian did not say anything.
Ronian wanted to take back what belonged to him, and when he thought of Ormand, he hoped that he could torture Ormand and destroy him.
However, when Ronian looked at his half-brother in front of him, his deep and long eyes slightly narrowed. Jerry didn't know what he was thinking.
"Ronian, I am your younger brother. I have nothing now, so I can only rely on you. I will definitely help you. Even if I will have to risk my life, I will help you get the power of the National Bureau of Investigation!" Jerry continued to try to persuade him.
They shared a common enemy.
If they worked together, they would have a greater chance of winning.
Ronian smiled and extended his hand toward Jerry. Jerry tactfully leaned his head over and allowed Ronian to gently pat his face.
"You have become much more mature over the past year. I'm pleased to see that."
Jerry looked down obediently. There were no emotions in his eyes.
Ronian said, "I promise you that I will find a way to help you deal with Ormand."
"Thankyou, Ronian!"
"It's fine. You must be tired from the journey. Just have a rest in the guest room for the night. I will ask the servants to clean your previous room."
"Okay, thank you, Ronian, for letting the Felton's house be my shelter."
Ronian smiled kindly, "Previously, we had a fight because of the struggle for power. I even hit you with family laws, but I still care about you."
Jerry's face was rough, and when he smiled, the wrinkles on his face made him look more mature.
"I was unreasonable in the past. I'm glad that you didn't blame me." Jerry said humbly. There was no disgust or displeasure in his eyes.
Ronian nodded in satisfaction. "Go rest."
"Yeah. Take your time, Ronian. I'll go upstairs first."
"Um."
Jerry got up and left the dining room, walking toward the stairwell.
The moment Jerry turned around, the smile on his face disappeared, which was replaced by coldness.
Ronian was eating alone in the huge dining room, and the atmosphere was quiet and cold.
Ronian didn't feel anything strange and continued to eat with ease.
A few minutes later, he called the bodyguard in and whispered, "Go and investigate where Jerry went before he arrived at the Felton's house. To check if he has met Ormand."
