Lenny and Scarlett

Chapter 30

Chapter 30

Rosaline disliked Scarlet. After all, she was Lenny's ex-wife, and Marlene favored her a lot. Lenny's

mother also preferred her.

Previously, Lenny wanted to take Rosaline to meet his family, but his mother stopped him. She refused

to accept a woman who came out of nowhere as her new daughter-in-law. She was even more

unwilling to recognize the baby that Rosaline was carrying.

"Miss Brown." Rosaline took the initiative to greet Scarlet.

"Good evening, Miss Marshall. I came here earlier to get something of mine that I left when I moved

out. On my way home, it started raining heavily. I ran into Mr. Foster on the road, and he took me back

here out of kindness," Scarlet preemptively explained.

"Well, why didn't you tell me that you were here earlier? I would definitely have allowed you to stay in

the villa for the night. Come on in. Take a hot shower and change out of your wet clothes. I'll make

some hot soup for you."

"Have one of the servants do it," Lenny cut in.

"You should also have some soup, Lenny. I can prepare it myself. I don't like it when others do such

things for me."

Rosaline chuckled, turned around, and then went into the living room.

"I thought the thunderstorm frightened you."

"Now that you're home, I'm not afraid anymore."

Seeing the interaction between Lenny and Rosaline, Scarlet couldn't help feeling a bit envious.

She went to her old room. Before she took a shower, one of the servants brought clean, new clothes for

her, ones that belonged to Rosaline and that Rosaline picked carefully.

Scarlet just stepped out of the shower when someone knocked on her door.

"Hey, it's me. I brought your hot soup," Rosaline said. All content © N/.ôvel/Dr/ama.Org.

Scarlet opened the door immediately.

"Thank you."

"Don't mention it. Lenny just looks cold and difficult to get along with, but I know for a fact that he is a

very sensitive and warm-hearted gentleman. He married you so that his mother could live a more

comfortable life in the Foster family."

Scarlet understood what Rosaline was getting at.

As the new woman in Lenny's life, Rosaline was reminding her that Lenny had only been forced into

their marriage by circumstance, not love. But Lenny loved Rosaline deeply.

Scarlet knew that Rosaline was being territorial, albeit in a passive-aggressive manner. But she could

understand. After all, she and Lenny were no longer married, and she had no reason to be here at all.

Scarlet took a deep breath and replied, "Don't worry, Miss Marshall. When the rain eases up a bit, I will

leave."

"I really do understand as a woman, Miss Brown. We are both in a weird predicament right now, being

Lenny's ex-wife and current girlfriend respectively. But I trust Lenny, and I know that he will do what he

has promised me. I just think that you two shouldn't be seeing each other so often anymore. You two

are divorced. Being seen together will only inspire rumors that we will all end up disliking.

If you run into trouble, come to me, and I will try my best to help you. Lenny is a kind-hearted person

and so am I. If you come to me instead of my boyfriend, you won't give people a reason to talk. At the

same time, you will get the help you need, and I won't worry about you and Lenny. That's three birds hit

with one stone. What do you think?"

Scarlet looked at the woman in front of her carefully.

Rosaline was about the same age as she was. She was thin and pale and appeared weak. But her

eyes shone with undeniable cunning.

She was dangerously smart, which was the first impression Scarlet got of her.

Rosaline was so eloquent that it was hard to refute her.

But why did she have to emphasize her relationship with Lenny again and again? Rosaline kept saying

that Lenny attached great importance to her and that he would eventually keep his word and marry her.

But because Lenny's mother and grandmother didn't approve of Rosaline, their wedding couldn't be

pushed through.

But Rosaline still firmly believed that Lenny would marry her and wouldn't let her suffer grievance.

Since she was so confident about it, she shouldn't feel the need to bring it up repeatedly.

The more confident Rosaline tried to appear, the surer Scarlet was that Rosaline was afraid of her.

However, Rosaline was also pregnant, so there was no need for Scarlet to make things difficult for her.

Her own child wouldn't have a father, so Scarlet sincerely hoped in her heart that Rosaline's child would

have a complete family.

Scarlet nodded her acknowledgement.

"You're right. Okay. I'll be more careful in the future."

"Thank you, Miss Brown. I really appreciate it."

Rosaline flashed Scarlet a gentle smile. She tried hard to conceal the shrewdness in her eyes.
