Chapter 171 Everyone's Destiny (Part One)
On her way to work, Cherry got stuck in traffic because she caught the rush hour.
Since she didn't want to be late for work, when she could, Cherry drove at nearly twice the speed that
she usually did.
Cherry was randomly looking at the roadside when suddenly a familiar figure caught her attention. Her
face suddenly changed and she immediately hit the brakes to have a better look at her.
She saw a woman casually walking on the street.
Cherry looked very closely at her figure and way of walking, and was convinced that the woman had to
be none other than Jean. She couldn't have been wrong, because she had known her for a lifetime.
She immediately parked her car on the side of the road, and after she picked up her bag and got out of NôvelDrama.Org owns this.
the car, she strode towards the woman who seemed to be so familiar to her.
At first, Cherry was a little far from the woman, but she sped up her pace to get closer to her to
convince herself that she was indeed Jean. She hadn't seen her face, and wanted to be 100%
convinced that she was her sister.
Cherry's heart tightened by the second. While she was on the crowded street following the woman she
totally forgot about the other pedestrians around her.
All of a sudden, Cherry collided with a man and stopped after walking a few steps back.
The man yelled at her loudly, "Don't you have eyes, lady?"
Cherry apologized with her eyes still on the familiar figure, and as she was trying to not lose sight of
her, said, "I'm sorry, sorry."
Seeing her absent-minded behavior, the passer-by thought that she was crazy, and quickly left her after
he fixed his clothes on him.
Cherry tried to spot the woman again but she had already vanished.
She then quickly ran to the place where she last spotted her, but after she looked around for a while,
she failed to find her again. It seemed that the woman had disappeared into thin air.
Standing in the crowd, Cherry's heart was a mess. She said to herself, "What's going on? Is Jean
alive? How had Jackson dealt with her? If Jean is alive, maybe Jade is also. And also my father."
Harrison suddenly sprung into Cherry's mind, and then a series of questions came following. She
couldn't wait anymore; she had to see the Shen Family as soon as possible.
After she got back in her car, Cherry drove as fast as she could to the JS Group.
After she arrived, Cherry threw her bag on her seat and then went straight into Selina's office.
Cherry knocked on the door and entered. Selina was surprised to see Cherry coming towards her so
frantically, and asked, "Cherry, what happened?"
Cherry was so anxious that she forgot about all the office formalities and asked straightaway, "Selina,
you promised you would help me check into my father's whereabouts! Did you find anything?"
"Oh..." Selina didn't expect Cherry to ask this question. She thought about it for a moment, and said,
"Nothing yet, because those who are investigating into his whereabouts haven't contacted me yet."
Cherry lowered her head and fell in silence for a while. She then suddenly raised her head, and asked,
"Miss Lu, can I ask for a leave?"
Selina didn't refuse her when she saw Cherry's unstable emotions. She nodded, and couldn't help but
ask, "Okay but, what happened? Why are you so distressed this morning?"
"Nothing. I'll leave now, thank you, "said Cherry, and then turned around and left.
As she looked at Cherry's back Selina became a little worried about her since she could feel her
volatile emotions. She guessed that something surely must have happened, or else she wouldn't have
behaved like that.
Selina then immediately grabbed her phone and called Jackson.
After the call was connected, Selina said, "Jackson, something happened to my sister-in-law."
When he heard Selina's words, Jackson immediately asked, "What happened?"
"I have no idea. She just came to me earlier asking about her father's whereabouts. After I told her that
I found nothing yet she left, " said Selina.
"Did she go out to look for her father?" Jackson was also a little surprised, and continued, "Why is she
looking for Harrison now?" He also had no idea about her father's whereabouts.
"Well, Jackson, I guess that she may have found out something about the Shen Family, or something
else that relates. Anyway, she seemed to be a mess. Why don't you follow her?" Selina was also really
worried about Cherry, and feared that something bad might happen to her.
"Do you know where she went?" quickly asked Jackson.
"No, I don't, " said Selina, "She just told me that she wanted to take the day off and then left right after I
said that she could."
Jackson thought for a while, and then said, "Okay, I think I know where she went."
He then hung up. Jackson was very worried about Cherry, and after he gradually calmed down, he tried
to figure out why was his woman was so anxious to find out her father's whereabouts, and what she
really knew about the Shen family. "Can't it be that she's back?"
Cherry drove at full speed to the villa where the Shen family had previously lived. She stopped at it's
gates and looked at the house; it seemed that someone was living there, since it was obvious that
someone had been taking care of the flowers in the yard.
Cherry stood in front of the gates and pressed the buzzer. Soon after that, a maid came out of the
house and walked to her.
"Can I help you, Miss?" asked the maid in a respectful manner.
"Hello, does the Shen Family still live here?" asked Cherry anxiously. She wanted to find out anything
about the Shen Clan.
But the maid shook her head, and said, "No, here lives the Wang Family."
