Chapter 75 Confrontation
Margaret left helplessly with Charleston.
The two of them came to the garage for the car.
She thought that Charleston was actually going to send her back.
She did not expect the car would suddenly stop somewhere.
"Why did you bring me here?" Margaret asked as she looked at the view in front of her. She could not
help but to frown slightly.
In front of her was a business district.
"We're here to pick your outfit, of course," Charleston said with a smile, "If you were to attend the
banquet, you'll need stunning clothes. There will be something here that you need."
Margaret really wanted to refuse him.
Yet, she had to admit that Charleston's words made a lot of sense.
Riley Jewelry's banquet was very important to her.
Margaret could not take this lightly.
"You're my woman, so how can you appear in such a low-key manner at the banquet? Naturally, you
have to stupefy them." Charleston said with a smile.
Margaret was stunned for a while.
The next moment, the man pulled her into his arms.
Her soft body was pressing against his sturdy chest.
The two of them leaned into each other intimately.
The temperature in the car rose rapidly.
Margaret could feel that there was something warm against her back.
She did not have to turn around and look to know what it was.
This d*mn man!
Margaret couldn't help blushing as she felt it getting warmer and warmer. Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org exclusive © material.
Charleston gently bit on Margaret's shoulder.
The tender and numbing pain immediately spread from her shoulders to every part of her body.
Margaret groaned helplessly, "Let.. Let go of me."
The dominant man smiled faintly.
Then, he let her go.
Margaret hurriedly got out of the car.
After she got out of the car, Charleston went and got it parked.
Margaret walked up to the district alone.
Although Tropica Mall was just a small trading business under the Limbaugh Group, but it was the top
business district in Asshington.
The ninth floor was the clothing department. Its racks and shelves were decorated with expensive
clothes.
Though Margaret had already mentally prepared herself for this, she was still shocked when she saw
the prices.
After scanning through the prices of a whole row of clothes, she learned that the lowest price had five
digits.
"Hello, Miss. Is there anything I can do for you?" A shop assistant came over and asked politely.
Margaret coughed softly and replied, "I'm just going to browse on my own first."
"All right." The shop assistant nodded. Yet, she looked at Margaret with a slight frown.
Those who could come here were all rich people. However, judging from Margaret's choice of clothing,
it was obvious that she could not afford anything here.
Sure enough, Margaret would always look at the price as she looked for clothes. She would then frown
when she saw the price.
The shop assistant confirmed that this woman was not able to afford anything in the store.
Humph, what was the use of being so beautiful when she could not even afford a piece of clothing?
The shop assistant scoffed at the thought of Margaret coming here, pretending to be rich.
The shop assistant's tone suddenly became a little impolite. "Miss, please look properly first before you
touch anything. The clothes here are very expensive. If anything gets damaged, you'd have to pay for
it."
Upon hearing the shop assistant's words, Margaret raised her eyebrows slightly and responded, "I
won't damage anything."
"Well, you shouldn't touch it either," replied the shop assistant. Margaret furrowed her brows.
She immediately stared at the shop assistant.
This made the shop assistant a little scared. The shop assistant glared back at her and said, "What are
you looking at? Did I say something wrong?"
Margaret ignored her and grabbed at a blue dress next to her.
A sweet, high-pitched voice suddenly said from behind, "Help me wrap this dress up."
The next moment, a pair of hands reached out and took the dress from Margaret's hand.
Margaret turned her head, only to see Stephanie standing in front of her with a smile.
"Oh, Miss Simons." Obviously, Stephanie was a regular here. When the sales assistant saw that
Stephanie had come, her eyes looked like she had seen the God of Wealth. She went back to polite
mode.
"Hello." Stephanie nodded.
The shop assistant reached her hands out for the dress to start packing it for Stephanie.
Before she could, Margaret opened her mouth and said indifferently, "I saw the dress first."
"So what if you did?" The shop assistant said sarcastically, "This dress is 30 thousand dollars. Can you
even afford it?"
In the eyes of the shop assistant, Stephanie was the bigger, more important client.
If she could please Stephanie, there would be no need for her to worry about commissions in the
future.
However, Margaret was just someone insignificant who somehow found her way into a store she could
not afford to shop in.
"I'm paying by card." Stephanie was evidently in a good mood. She handed the card to the shop
assistant.
The shop assistant hurriedly took the card and went to pay the bill.
"Margaret, do you see? As long as something's yours, I can always snatch it over, whether it's Zachary
or a dress." Stephanie's arms were crossed in front of her chest. She looked at Margaret proudly.
Margaret's pupils suddenly contracted when she heard Zachary's name.
"But I'm really curious as to why you are here. The dresses here are not cheap. Could it be that you
have become so vain?" Stephanie chuckled.
Stephanie still did not know about Margaret's relationship with Charleston.
And Margaret did not plan to explain anything to her. Her face turned cold as she turned around to
leave.
However, when she noticed Zachary walking in her direction, her heart suddenly started beating
frantically inside her chest.
Not this b*tch and as*hole again.
"What did you pick? Try it on and show me later when we got home."
"Okay." Stephanie said happily.
She continued, "Let's go see if my engagement gown is ready later."
"Okay, we'll do whatever you want." Zachary said to her lovingly.
Margaret tightly clenched her hands into a fist. The corners of her lips were curved up into a pained,
sarcastic smile.
Stephanie glanced at Margaret from the corners of her eyes and felt her mood getting uplifted. She
said to Zachary, "I'll go and see if the package is ready."
"Okay, I'll go get the car first." Zachary replied.
Stephanie strutted away in her high heels.
As Margaret heard Stephanie's footsteps getting further, she paused for a moment before deciding to
turn around.
She then saw Zachary walking towards the elevator.
For a moment, Margaret did not know what she was thinking.
She quickly stepped forward and grabbed Zachary's sleeve.
"Don't you have anything to say to me?" She asked Zachary.
She was talking about the Riley Banquet.
If they kept mum about this, it meant that they really did not intend to have her attend the banquet.
These jerks were something else.
"Margaret!" Stephanie appeared out of nowhere while holding a bag in her hand.
She naturally used her other hand to hold Zachary's hand with affection. She said, "Margaret, if you
really want to buy something from here, I can gift you one."
"Clothes aren't the only thing I want." Margaret said before turning to leave.
Zachary stared at Margaret's back. Somehow, he had a strange feeling in his heart.
Stephanie also frowned and said, "Do you think that Margaret knows?"
Why else would she say something like that?
