His Ex-wife Is An Heiress (Amara and Tobias)

Chapter 0068

Amara returned home close to midnight. Stepping into the living room, the first thing her eyes found were the sex toys scattered all over the floor.

She huffed and walked towards them, squatting down where the box was so that she could pack them up one by one.

However, when she arrived at the one Tobias had picked, the same one she had smacked out of his hand, Amara couldn't help but think back to the kiss that happened.

Against her better judgement, her brain recalled the kiss, how Tobias's lips felt against hers, how smoothly his fingers had ran through her body and how emotional the kiss seemed.

It wasn't like It was the best kiss in the world, But Amara sure was surprised how it had rendered her flightless for the first few minutes.

Why? Well despite the obvious answer being that it was because the kisser was Tobias, the very man she had loved for six years, who seemed to have some sort of bewitching influence over her, Amara couldn't help but think of another reason.

Perhaps it wasn't because it was Tobias. Perhaps the kiss wasn't all the emotional and good feeling, but the fact that she had gotten laid in a long while, thus, making the kiss feel the way it felt.

"Explains," She muttered underneath her breath as she stuffed the last toy inti the box, closed it up and stored it someplace safer.

As she sat back down, intending to work to get Thought of Tobias out of her mind, Amara realised just how stupid she was, once again. Tobias had only come here for Celestine's sake, yet here she was, allowing herself to think about a kiss that had only happened because Tobias wanted to belittle her and prove a sick point.

Amar clenched her teeth.

Tobias was more sick than she had expected. And she'd only be a fool if she feel for it a second time.

The day after the event had brought about headaches, dark circles and an unrested brain.

Amara stumbled into work nearly looking like a mommy that had barely gotten any rest for the past thousand years.

It was one thing to say she had insomnia, but combined with the little show Tobias had put on for her yesterday, sleeping wasn't even on her agenda.

"Congratulations!" The sound of confetti popping, along with the voices of her employees congratulating her, rang through the lower floor of the company, startling Amara as soon as she stepped in.

"Congratulations on securing the project MD!"

"Congratulations MD."

Amara looked around the company's lower floor, a bit surprised by the small decorations that has been put in place. But nonetheless, she was touched.

"Thank you," A smiles broke across her tired face and her employees rushed in, presenting her with small but meaningful gifts. Amara accepted as much as she could. "It was possible because we all worked hard. Let's head out to dinner later this week, yea?" Everyone quickly agreed. Amongst the crowd of happy employees, Jasper squeezed his way through, proudly walking towards Amara.Property © NôvelDrama.Org.

"Congratulations Miss Miller," He

offered his hand to which Amara eyed and choose to ignore. Getting the memo, he cleared his throat and withdrew his hand, stuffing it into his pocket. "Everyone is especially glad that you were able to secure the contract. Now I know this is a bit responsibility and would be more than happy to help you-"

"Help me?" Amara cut in, the irritation in her tone was clear as day. "You, help me?" He chuckled. "L don't think that would be the case if we were to talk together. And moreover, Madam Sinclair and Bethany have a strict policy against Working with gossip mongers like you."

Jasper flinched, becoming red quickly.

"Miss Miller, I assure you I did no-"

"Don't make up an excuse," Amara cut in, once again. "There's nothing more to be said here. Go home if you have no work left to do. That's an order from your superior." That was all it took to get Jasper fuming with anger. But despite the emotion, he couldn't bring himself to say anything and just angrily stormed away.

"Don't regret your decision one day." Was his last words.

"Do you want me to contact the boss and put in a word to fire him?" Duncan showed up, retrieving the gifts from Amara's hands as he asked.

She shook her head and dismissed the employees, instructing that they clean up and get back to work. "Firing him now would only smear the company's name."

As she walked towards the elevator, Duncan followed. "What do you think people would think of us if they hear that an executive was fired? Not the best, right?" She pressed the button and waited. "Jasper can always be dealt with, I'll see to that personally, but not now."

The elevator arrived and instead of stepping into it, Duncan was surprised that his boss gently pushed him into it.

"Drop those and meet me at Madam Sinclair's company." She told him, gave a single wave and then turned away, not delaying a second more for the contract signing.

Amara ran into Bethany outside her mother's company.

"Good to see you, Mara," Bethany greeted lightly, giving the younger female a hug. "Are you here to sign the contract?"

Amara nodded as they made their way up by the elevator.

"I know it's late, but congratulations."

She smiled. "Thank you Bethany."

However, the smile on her lips faded the moment she walked into the contract signing room and instead of seeing just Gemini alone, she saw Tobias seated beside the older lady, smiling and chatting with her as if he wasn't meant to be locked in a fucking cell!
