Chapter 2995
"Shelly, whether you work in a big company, a small company, or have your own business, everyone's ultimate goal is to make money. You're earning just as much as they are, so you should be even more confident than them."
"You're right," Shelly admitted, feeling much more confident because of his words.
As Hayden walked in, he spotted Fergus and Shelly conversing enthusiastically.
"Boss, why did you come?" Eliam greeted Hayden as he walked over. "Tonight's event is a great success. Look at everyone. They're having so much fun!"
"Weren't you the one who messaged me to come?" Hayden retorted.
Eliam blushed and said, "I thought that you might be interested in knowing about Shelly, so I took the liberty of informing you."
"Why did you let her come to the company's event for single people?" Hayden questioned sharply.
"I noticed that you have a good relationship with Ms. Taylor, so I agreed to it. Besides, having one outsider wouldn't make much of a difference. She doesn't take up much space or eat much..." Eliam explained
Hayden was hardly concerned about how much space Shelly took up or how much food she ate. "You won't receive your bonus this month," Hayden calmly stated, delivering his harshest blow in his most composed tone.
Eliam pursed his lips, feeling a bit aggrieved but not daring to complain.
After Fergus went to ask a woman for her phone number, someone immediately approached Shelly. "Hello, may I ask which company you're from? Can we exchange numbers?" the person inquired. Shelly awkwardly waved her hand and replied, "I'm not from any of these three companies. I own a dessert shop."
"Oh... Is your shop the one that provides desserts for our company every Wednesday?" The person was an employee of Sterling Group.
"Are you an employee of Sterling Group?" Shelly asked.
"Yes! It seems that the desserts in our company are really from your shop. I didn't expect the owner of the dessert shop to be so young and beautiful." The man's interest grew stronger. "Here's my business card. We can add each other as friends and maybe go out for a meal together when we're free."
Out of politeness, Shelly accepted the business card. She unlocked her phone and added his number to her contact list.
Hayden witnessed this scene. Eliam noticed that Hayden seemed upset, but he held it in.
"Mr. Tate, if you like Shelly, why don't
you just tell her directly? With your status, if you express your feelings to her, she would surely agree immediately," Eliam kindly suggested, fearing that his boss might be suppressing his feelings. "I think Ms. Taylor is an introverted woman. If you don't make a move, she probably won't confess her feelings to you either."
"I admit that I am slightly interested in her, but that's hardly enough for me to pursue her," Hayden said before turning to leave.Content © NôvelDrama.Org.
Eliam stood frozen in place and
thought, What did Mr. Tate just say?
Did he just admit to liking Shelly?
That's literally the first time he has
admitted to liking a woman!"
As an excellent assistant, Eliam could not let this chance of getting Hayden his dream woman slip by and strode up to Shelly.
"Ms. Taylor, let's talk somewhere quiet!" he said with a grin.
"Mr. Golan? Can't we talk here?" Shelly asked. "I'm here with my friend. If he comes back and I'm not around, he might think that I've gone home."
"We can talk here, but don't act too surprised over what I'm about to say," Eliam warned.
