Room 14
“No one ask who you are.”Beatrice scoffed.
Laura’s right hand folded into a ball.
“I thought it’s only right to do that so you won’t misunderstand.”
“Misunderstand what?”Beatrice questioned.
Laura sighed.
“I..”
“You don’t have to say anything to me, miss Laura. I like your gown by the way.”Beatrice pointed at her blue ball gown.
“It makes you look like a cinderella..”she added with a chuckle.
“Is that so?. If you like it, I could get one for you also.”
“No, I don’t. It looks way too childish.”Beatrice frowns.
“I do admire it on your body though.”she grinned.
Laura clenched her teeth together.
She is humourously insulting her.
Beatrice looked at Gregory and down at his chest.
“Mr, no shirt?”she eyeballed him.
She huffed.
“I will go take my bath and meet you here super fast. I can’t wait to take a tour around here.”she smiled at Laura who returned a fake one at her.
“Sure, Mrs Winslow. I am always here.”she chirped.
Beatrice scurried away.
“Your wife is so nice, isn’t she?”Laura said to Gregory.
He perched up his brows at her.
“Did.. I ask something wrong?”
“I just wonder why you happen to have so many questions.”he snorts and took the stairs up.
Laura smiled out, her check bones clenching.
She chugged down the tasteless tea and breathed out.
Beatrice came down later, clothed in a white gown.
“Let’s go.”she beamed at Laura.
“We… have to wait for Mr Gregory.”Laura replied.
Beatrice snorted and rolled her eyes.
She sat down beside her.
“Where are we going first though?”
“Where do you want to go to first?”Laura replied the question.
“Somewhere nice… might be a cake shop, might be the beach.. might be anywhere.”Beatrice tittered.
“Cake shop?”Laura repeated with a hint of mock in her voice.
“You guys are here for your honeymoon but you want to go to a cake shop, Mrs Winslow?”she scoffed.
Beatrice dug her teeth into her lips before smiling out.
“It’s all about happiness, Laura. We don’t have to go to the most expensive place in the world before we know that our marriage has been honeyed.”
Laura’s eyes twitched.
“Oh, of course, yes. Happiness…”she drawled out.
“I’m guessing you like simple things, Mrs Winslow.”she chuckled.
“Once my heart feels at peace with something, no matter if it’s simple or not, I would love it.”Beatrice folds her arms on her chest and relaxed back on the couch.
“Mr Gregory might have done something little that made your heart flutter too.”
Beatrice squirmed her lips then giggled.
“Miss Laura..”she called.
“I feel you’re trying to get to somewhere with what you just said.”
“You get that right. I am a woman, and you are too. Seeing a fellow woman fall in love so easily makes me think of how petty you are.”Laura crossed her legs.
Beatrice’s eyes sharpened in flames.
“Because you like expensive things doesn’t me those who fancy stuffs opposite to yours are petty.”
“Really?”Laura pressed her lips together.
“I still think they are though.”she smacked her lips.
Beatrice snickered.
“If you are so expensive, why are you throwing yourself cheaply at my husband?.”she brought her face closer to Laura’s.
Laura batted her lashes bashfully.
“I–”
“Oh, I know.”Beatrice moved her head back.
“People like you tend to sell your heart, no, body if possible, for a man that buys you an expensive necklace.”she smirks.
Laura glared at her.
“You have quite a bad mouth, Mrs Winslow.”
“So do you.”Beatrice retorted.
“To make things clear, I wasn’t throwing myself at your husband. I have a boyfriend and…”
“Oof! Boyfriend?”Beatrice scoffed.
“Cut me some slack. I don’t wanna hear about your expensive relationship, miss Laura.”she snorted.
Laura opened her mouth to utter something but Gregory’s appearance in the living room didn’t let her do that.
Beatrice scanned his dressing with her eyes.
Why is he dressed so beautifully?.
Hmph!
“Mr Gregory!”Laura chimed and stood up.
“Why are you not calling him Mr Winslow?”Beatrice voiced out, staring at the TV lostly.
The smile on Laura’s lips faded off as she stared at her.
Beatrice pouted and meet Laura’s gaze with her’s.
“You must really hate the fact that he is married a lot.”she lifts her brows up at her and chuckled.
“And you said you weren’t throwing yourself at him.”she added, sarcastically before rising up to her feet.
“Shall we go now that my husband is here?”
“To make things right, Mrs Winslow, I..”
“You don’t have to make anything right, miss Laura. What you’re doing is wrong. Coveting on another woman’s husband is wrong.. all shades of wrong.”Beatrice said and took her gaze to Gregory who only stared at her silently.
“Mr Gregory..”
“Call him mr Winslow.”Beatrice frowned.
“Mr Winslow, don’t believe what Mrs Winslow is..”
“I am his wife.. not Mrs Winslow to him.”
“Mr Winslow, your wife is accusing me falsely. I..”
“That was only a tongue in the cheek, miss Laura. You don’t have to be too jittery.”Beatrice smiled.
“Well, let’s go.”she started walking out.
Laura breathed out angrily.
“Mr Winslow, you have to caution your wife.”
“Why?”
“Because she can’t go around accusing every pretty lady she sees beside you.”
“Okay.”Gregory held an indifferent look and trotted away.
Laura puffed out some air before going after them.
Beatrice stepped inside the car and watched as Gregory walked towards it too.
Laura said something to him and he nodded.
Him, nodding and coffee can never be separated.
Well.. none of her concern.
He got into the backseat.
“Well, where are we heading to?”Beatrice questioned as they got on the road.
“I don’t know.”
“Huh?. Didn’t you make any preparations beforehand? Like, the first place we are going to visit and..”she shrugged.
“I didn’t.”he shook his head.
“Forget about it then.”she huffed.
Laura’s car before them stopped Infront of a huge building.
She got down and walked to their car.Ccontent © exclusive by Nô/vel(D)ra/ma.Org.
Beatrice stepped out.
“What’s with this place?”
“This is where new couples like you always come too.”Laura responded.
Gregory also hopped out of the car.
The three of them moved in and Laura went to the receptionist.
She came back and smiled at them.
“We have to get you guys to room 14. Let’s go, please.”
“Room 14 to do what?”Beatrice inquired behind her.
“You have never been in an hotel, Mrs Winslow?”Laura scoffed.
