Chapter 210 He Had been Away for Ten Days
Chapter 210 He Had been Away for Ten Days
Daenerys’ attitude was firm. She could do as the arrangement of Kevin, expect for this.
She wanted Winnie to live better.
"What if we don't succeed?"
Kevin asked, after all, Winnie was a persistent person and Brian was stubborn. Neither was easy to
persuade.
"That we wait for two years. If there is no hope in two years, we will have the wedding."
Daenerys also thought of this point that the stubborn Winnie might not to be persuaded. So she gave it
a time limit and wanted to have understanding of each other with Kevin in these two years.
"Well, ok. So can we meet the parents?"
Kevin agreed to Daenerys’ opinion. It was only two years and time would pass quickly.
Kevin told Winnie the good news at the first time, because Winnie was the one who cared about them
most. Then he told Brian the news.
Daenerys was sitting in the passenger seat on the drive to her house.
"Bro, I have good news for you. I'm getting married."
Kevin was still excited and said in a festive tone. He was waiting for Brian's congratulations.
"I'm too busy right now to listen to your nonsense. You don’t even have a girlfriend, how can you get
married?"
Brian said with discontent. He was displeased to hear Kevin’s boring joke when he was so busy.
"I'm not talking nonsense, I mean it. I will register marriage with Daenerys tomorrow. Bless me, Bro."
Kevin repeated and told him the bride's name.
"Who? Daenerys? You marry Daenerys?"
Brian asked in disbelief, because he had heard that Kevin was courting Daenerys. It was unbelievable
that they would get married.
"Yes, Daenerys. Daenerys is the woman I want to love with my heart for a lifetime. If you don't believe
me, see my marriage certificate tomorrow."
Kevin understood why Brian did not believe him, after all, he did not mention it to Brian. He wanted to
tell him after their relationship was determined. And now he was going to get married.
"Are you serious?”
Brian asked again hearing that they would get marriage certificate tomorrow.
"How can I make a joke on this? Daenerys is with me now. If she doesn't marry me, will I call you?"
"Oh, and there's something important I want to tell you. I'm going to be a father. Daenerys is pregnant
for more than two months."
The more Kevin said, the more shocked Brian was.
It was surprising that they got married, and now they had a baby, it looked like they got married
because of the baby.
"Good for you. You didn’t even tell me. Congratulations."
Brian finally said congratulations, but at this time he was very jealous of Kevin that he could marry the
woman he liked.
"Thank you. Get the red envelope ready."
"I will, but it won't take long for you to return it to me."
Kevin motivated Brian. He wanted to finish the work as soon as possible, so that he could go back to
Winnie and stay with her for the rest of his life.
"I forgot that you are also getting married and you have children. It seems that I have asked the wrong
person for a red envelope. We can set off."
Kevin made a joke and hung up the phone. He thought Brian was talking about Wendy, and did not
think much.
Daenerys and Kevin spent three days to have things settled. Winnie once again got busy at work, but
as long as she insisted for two days, the software would enter the experimental stage, and she could
return to the normal schedule.
Only her heart could not settle because of Brian.
Two days later, Winnie finally took off the burden. To reward their hard work, Leo invited them to a high-
end restaurant.
"It's my treat today, so everyone can relax."
Leo said forthright on the table. He was in a good mood. The success of software development meant
that they would have a lot of cooperation opportunities, so he would be closer and closer to Winnie.
"Winwin, thank you for your hard work. With your efforts we can cooperate and win. I am looking
forward to our next collaboration."
Leo was more and more appreciate Winnie's talent. He felt that she was strong with tenacity and grew
fondness on her.
"The success of the software development is not my own credit, everyone made effort. You should
thank them all."
Winnie said humbly. But everyone knew that she paid the most and she got the biggest credit. Without
her, this software could not be developed.
"Winnie, don't be modest, you made great contribution. Without you, we can’t make this money."
Winnie’s partner said and he knew his ability was far less than Winnie’s. He also knew that their
company would have a bright future with Winnie, and he knew that they had done the right thing by
giving her shares.
"I am not modest, everyone has contributed. I cannot take the credit alone. I'd like to propose a toast to
all of you for your trust and tolerance in this first successful collaboration."
Winnie raised her glass and proposed a toast to everyone.
After the last time she got drunk, she vowed never to drink again, but it was a different occasion. It
would spoil everyone's fun if she did not drink.
Winnie raised her glass and drank first, and then everyone followed.
"I propose a toast to you. I hope we can have better cooperation in the future."
Leo raised the glass, and everybody drank again.
Then two partners proposed a toast, Winnie finally got drunk.
Leo was happy and had drunk a lot. Thanks to his assistant, otherwise they might have to sleep in the
restaurant.
Leo and his assistant sent Winnie home, on the way, they were talking.
"I arrived, the car is not allowed to enter the community with door card...... My card is in the car...Drop
me here and I'll walk in."
Winnie said and the car stopped. Fortunately she did not walk in a daze and could speak clearly. © NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.
Perhaps it was because she was in a good mood and she was not so drunk as to be ashamed.
As the car stopped, Winnie got off. Then Leo followed.
"I send you in. It is now late, it is not safe for you alone."
Leo said considerately.
"No need, it is safe here. The street lights are on and the security guards are on patrol. There's nothing
to be afraid of. You've had a tired day too. Go home and rest."
Winnie rejected Leo.
"Can you do that? My assistant can see you off."
Leo drank more wine than Winnie. Some of the wine he drank was for Winnie. So now he was not in a
good state. He was afraid that Winnie had to send him back if he sent Winnie in.
"Yes, I can go in myself. You've drunk more than I have. Go home and go to bed. I'll see you
tomorrow."
Winnie said naturally, turned around and walked inside the community.
Leo felt relieved looking at the steady pace of Winnie, and then got in the car.
Winnie walked in the community with beautiful environment, but she felt depressed.
Every time when she was alone, Brian would appear in her mind.
"Well, it's so hard to forget someone. The more I want to forget, the clearer it becomes."
"See, you come to disturb me again. I don't know what you really want to do."
Winnie soliloquized.
"Don't sway before my eyes, it makes me giddy. Didn’t you have something to tell me? Say it, I am
listening."
"Say it, I've been waiting for you. You made me wait. I've been waiting for ten days.”
"These ten days... Never mind, you must be lying. You are an illusion before my eyes."
"I've had drunk too much to and I'm not conscious. Go away, I'm going to sit in the park for a while. I'm
going to sober up, or my aunt will nag me."
Winnie stretched out her hand to push away Brian, who was hovering in front of her all the time, and
walked toward the park.
She sat down on a chair in the park, but the illusory figure of Brian followed and sat next to her.
"Are you so bored? You want to drive me mad, don't you? You follow me but don’t say a word."
Winnie knew she was talking to her hallucinations, but it was good that she could talk and free her
mind.
"Hey, it's you who sits next to me. I'm dizzy. Lend me your shoulder for a minute, just a minute. I
promise not to let Wendy know. I promise I will not affect your life."
Winnie leaned her head on Brian's shoulder. To her surprise, it was so real and so comfortable.
"It feels so good," he said. "If the hallucinations were so real, I'd like to get drunk every day."
Winnie closed her eyes to feel the rare reality, feeling the unique way of getting along with Brian.
"Why are you so close to Leo? Why did you drink? And you drank with Leo, are you testing my
patience?"
Brian's voice was suddenly heard.
"Ha...You finally spoke. Let's have an imaginary conversation."
Winnie gave a self-deprecating smile. She did not expect the she would miss Brian to this extent, but
she felt sad that she could only chat with him in this state of consciousness.
