Chapter 31 Let Me Bring You Somewhere Fun
Calista tightened her grip on the voice recorder. She will not!
Earlier sexual arousal was just a natural biological response - she knew very well what she wanted in this life. With this thought, she slowly opened her eyes again, and she regained her composure. The next urgent task at hand was to move out of the house. She didn't fancy being watched round the clock.
When she got back, Benedict wasn't home and was likely to be at work. Yelena and Jonathan weren't around either. Instead Wyatt, who should have been at work, was here talking to Quincy.
Quite obviously Quincy had gone out earlier in the afternoon to look for Wyatt to play the nice cousin, but Calista wasn't sure why Wyatt ended up coming back with Quincy, and she didn't care, so she headed upstairs.
"Calista, wait up," Wyatt suddenly called out after her.
He called her while giving Quincy a glance. He was here to try reconciling the two sisters.
"Sis..."
Quincy didn't like doing this, but in order to make Wyatt believe her, she put on her most pitiful face and walked over. "I'm really sorry about what happened, those two...I know them yes, but you remember I quarreled with you before that? After that I just said some nasty things to them out of spite, but I didn't expect them to take my words seriously and do something so horrible to you. I didn't instruct them or anything like that! Please believe me!"
Calista had one hand on the hand railings, and she calmly glanced at her, "That's how you deceived Wyatt?"
Quincy was stunned for a few moments. She thought that Calista wouldn't say such pointed things with outsiders around! "Sis! I know you're angry with me, but how can you say that about me? Am I such an evil and scheming person?"
Quincy looked at Wyatt with pain on her face, as if trying to tell him how Calista was so unreasonable, so unfriendly, and she was so helpless against this.
Wyatt frowned, "Calista, Quincy is your younger sister. Why do you hold such a grudge against her? She's still a child!"
"A child..."
Calista repeated this word spitefully. Back then it had never crossed her mind that a seventeen year old Quincy could be so vicious either.
But since Wyatt had chosen to believe Quincy, Calista couldn't be bothered with him and went upstairs.
Back then her grandfather had left another important thing for Calista besides those invaluable out-of-print books. He had left her two sets of silver needles, one set had 81 needles, the other had 48 needles.
The set with 81 needles were split into three smaller sets, and Calista was now only able to use the first 32 needles, but that was enough.
When she thought about the illness Jarrett's brother had, Calista hesitated for a few moments before taking seven needles with her as well as all the cash she had, then left the house.
Quincy was still crying and talking to Wyatt, but when he saw that Calista had walked out of the door, he also stood up and went after her.
Quincy looked confused, so Wyatt whispered, "You wait here, I'll make sure Calista believes you!"
After that he went running after Calista.
"Why did you follow me?" Calista asked him with an eyebrow raised.
Wyatt replied awkwardly, "Where are you going? I was about to leave anyway, so I can send you there."
Calista knew it was hard to get a cab here, so she agreed. After getting into the car, Wyatt became even more careful with his words.
He didn't really know why he insisted on following her. He just felt that Calista was prejudiced against him, and he wanted to remove this prejudice.
So he started, "Those two men have
received their sentences. Initially their families tried to get them a lighter sentence and they were first sentenced to only twenty years in prison. But Mr. Kallum interfered and
so they got life imprisonment."
Calista was stunned and didn't reply, instead just grunting and then she said, "Send me to the Rental Housing Center."
"Why do you want to go there?" Wyatt frowned and continued, "You...even if you're on bad terms with my aunt, there's no need to move out!"
Calista didn't want to bother
answering him, but then a thought suddenly crossed her mind, making her curl, ker lips up into a smile and she smiled meaningfully at Wyatt. "YouExclusive © material by Nô(/v)elDrama.Org.

move? Sure, I'll tell you, but you have
to help me out first."
Wyatt went into a panic when she suddenly moved closer to him, making the car nearly crash into another one. Whatever Calista wanted him to do, it couldn't be anything good.
Calista didn't care what he thought and continued, "If you can find out for me where Yelena is right now, I'll tell you why I want to move out. Her car number plate is HZ 55555, not difficult to check right?" Wyatt furrowed his brows. "What are you trying to do?"
"What am I trying to do?"
An evil glint flashed in Calista's eyes and her smile became more and more wicked, "Of course I'm going to do something really interesting..."
Wyatt went to check anyway, his police rank making it easy to check. He found out the car was last seen near Indigo Gardens.
Calista smiled mysteriously upon hearing this. "I know where that is. Come on, Officer Langley, let me bring you somewhere for some fun!"
Wyatt hesitated at first, but since he had already started on this road of no return, he couldn't just back out. What he didn't understand was why he couldn't say no to Calista. The last time it was like that, and now was no different.
Yelena had a bungalow in Indigo
Gardens, and while Benedict definitely had no idea about this
house, Calista knew. This was the house which Calista was trapped in for three months after she tried to escape in her previous life. After they captured her, they
wn
incapacitated her right hand and beat her until she was completely
covered in bruises.
When she thought of what happened back then, Calista smiled serenely. It looked serene, but there was much meaning behind it.
If she hadn't threatened to die when she was attacked, she was sure they wouldn't have just beat her and locked her up...
Because she was thinking about her tragic past, there was a spiteful aura surrounding Calista that made Wyatt feel uncomfortable sitting beside her. There were many things he wanted to say but wasn't able to, and it was dead silence in the car. When Calista saw the large lotus flowers, she suddenly said, "We're here."
Wyatt looked out of the window and the smell of lotus flowers hit his nostrils. Next to the pond of lotus flowers stood a beautiful bungalow, and it looked very expensive.
Calista got him to park the car a little further away, then they headed for the bungalow together.
"You're a rich man's son, but you've been properly trained at the police academy, right?" Calista suddenly asked.
Wyatt nodded. He graduated from the academy with the best results and wasn't going to let Calista look down on him!
Calista smiled but didn't let him barge into the bungalow, instead dragging him under a tree next to the house.
"Over there, you see that security alarm? Take it down!"
Wyatt started dismantling the alarm, but also asked, "This belongs to your family, right?"
He was afraid Calista was making him trespass private property again.
Calista saw that he had a number of tools on him, and casually replied, "Strictly speaking, this is Yelena's property."
Wyatt was stunned for a while, but then went back to dismantling the security alarm.
After that, Calista got Wyatt to continue dismantling other security alarms. Wyatt was surprised that this fairly small house had five hidden security alarms, and Calista knew exactly where each of them was located.
