Harvey York's Rise to Power

"Jesse?' Harvey frowned. However, he seemed to have realized something and asked, "Where's Yvonne?'

"Please stop looking for her, Harvey, "Jesse said, as if hesitating on how to explain it to Harvey. "She's one of our noveldrama

US, so she can't follow a man and keep on being his secretary. Even if she doesn't mind it, our family does. Not

to mention, she already has a fiance thanks to our family head's arrangement. She'll be marrying soon.

"Please don't disturb her ever again. Our family head promises that if you won't disturb Yvonne anymore, you'll

be a friend of the Xaviers of Wolsing forever."

"What if I'm determined to see her?' Harvey's expression darkened.

"Then... Please don't get upset when we treat you as an enemy,"

Jesse said as he raised his hand.

Harvey could sense murderous intent coming from behind the doors and windows, up on the roof and trees as

well as other locations, while still being physically hidden.

Jesse removed his gold-framed glasses and wiped them using a handkerchief.

He said slowly, ‘While the Xaviers of Wolsing are almost the weakest among the top ten families in this

country...we're still among the most powerful. If you want to barge into our family residence, then you're going to

pay a high price.

"Not to mention, you're in so much trouble right now. Do you really think you should be spending energy here in

the Xavier residence? My advice is for you to leave... And on the day of Yvonne's marriage, we might even send

you an invitation letter.

Jesse turned around, wanting to leave.

It was at this ta convoy of black vans drove over and stopped directly in front of the manor's entrance.

The car doors slid open, and dozens of Islanders cout. All of them were carrying a longsword and looked

around warily.

Then, two more people walked out of the van.

One of them had sstrands of white hair, but he couldn't hide his disposition as someone from the higher

echelon of society even when he wanted to. His every look and action made others understand what imposing

truly meant.

Harvey narrowed his eyes and realized who it was. It was the Xavier family's head, Nashon.

Just as Harvey was going to approach him, another old man appeared not far away from Nashon.

The old man was wearing the traditional summer garb of the Island Nation, a stern expression on his face. He

also had the sdisposition as those from the upper echelon of society, but he had it under control. Maybe

because he was in Country H.

Jesse, who was next to Harvey, quickly approached the two once they got out of the van. He bowed slightly and

greeted them.

"Sir, Mr. Tokugawa. Welcome! It's an honor to have you here!"

The Islander nodded slightly when he heard Jesse's words and gave Jesse a look. Then, he spoke to Jesse using

his heavily accented H Country language.

"Good, very good. You must be Mr. Xavier's scion, Jesse? You are young yet very talented. The Tokugawa family

has even more confidence in our marriage of alliance after I see that the Xaviers have such a talented heir."

Jesse smiled faintly, but Nashon simply said, "You praise him too much, Mr. Tokugawa. It's my niece's great

fortune to be able to marry your son."
