Chapter 707
Caleb arranged for Debra to visit a high–end boutique for a custom–made dress, and Erica, as the maid of honor, volunteered to accompany her. This content provided by N(o)velDrama].[Org.
Outside the boutique, several staff members had been waiting for a while. As soon as they saw Debra and Erica approaching, they quickly came forward to greet them.
“Mrs. Houston, Miss Mathis, this way, please.”
It was the first time Debra had been addressed as Mrs. Houston. Her face turned a faint shade of pink at the sound of it.
Erica teased her, “Mrs. Houston… That really rolls off the tongue. After the engagement, you’ll officially be my cousin–in–law, and we’ll be family.”
“Knock it off,” Debra protested, her embarrassment growing.
Though it wasn’t her first marriage, this was the first time she’d ever had an actual wedding.
As they entered the boutique, Debra was momentarily overwhelmed by the rows upon rows of stunning dresses that lined the walls.
Erica grumbled good–naturedly, “Wow, Caleb really went all out, huh? I’ve taken care of him for years, and he never treated me this generously. Guess you have all the perks. This old man is so biased.”
Then her attention was drawn to the clothes for bridesmaids.
A designer approached Debra, holding a design sketch in hand. “Ms. Frazier, this is the design Mr. Houston helped guide for your engagement gown. Please take a look.”
Debra glanced at the sketch, her eyes widening in awe. It was an opulent white mermaid dress, adorned with shiny diamonds. The design was breathtaking, a perfect blend of elegance and extravagance.
This is designed under his guidance?”
“Yes, Mr. Houston cares deeply for you. He told our team that the budget was unlimited, and he selected the style himself, saying it’s what you’d like. We revised the designs several times under his watchful eye, and he only approved it after making sure it was perfect. Now, we’re here to get your opinion.”
Erica overheard this and quickly rushed over, peering at the sketch over Debra’s shoulder, “Wow, Marion has stepped up his game. He used to be clueless about art, and now he’s designing gowns?”
Debra stared at the sketch and could almost envision herself in the dress.
A smile tugged at her lips, her heart fluttering with anticipation.
Erica nodded in approval. “I have to admit, it’s well–designed.”
The staff beamed with pride. “And this is just the engagement dress. We’ve also prepared a separate bridal gown and six additional outfits for the ceremony and banquet. In total, there are sixteen outfits.” They had been working at the shop for a long time, but no other customers were as generous as Marion. The dresses at this boutique started at seven figures, and he had commissioned sixteen of them.

Debra smiled, her eyes sparkling with happiness. I love it. Let’s go ahead and take my measurements.”
The tailor came forward, her measuring tape in hand. As she worked, she explained the exquisite materials and unique diamond–cutting techniques used in the gown. The hem alone sparkled with thousands of tiny diamonds.
“Madam, your figure is perfect,” she praised.
Just as the words left his mouth, voices could be heard at the entrance.
“Mrs. Nichols Sr., Ms. Blair, this way, please.”
Debra frowned, and Erica looked over.
Sure enough, there stood Melody, dressed in all her expensive finery, with Shelia at her side.
