Escaped My Ex Got Snatched

Chapter 89

Mrs Harlow still remembered how one of the men of the Serpent organization called her and ordered that she needed to drug Ariana and leave her under the shade of the old banyan tree.

The old banyan tree was located at the park that was half an hour away from the apartment where they used to live.

As the park was old and no one ever visited it, Mrs Harlow agreed. In fact, she was quite pleased about throwing a piece of baggage away. Because as long as Ari was gone, she wouldn’t have to hide her wealth and suffer. She could have lived a life full of comfort once that girl was gone.

Of course, she did not deliberately hide her wealth from Ari. Even without hiding it, she had confidence that she could suppress that girl under her foot. However, the people of that organization wanted Ari as downtrodden as possible. They told her, that they did not want a girl who would fight back, but a puppet who only knew how to listen and nothing else.

She only needed to sit still and submit to all sorts of treatment that her patron who purchased Ari had in mind for her. This could only be achieved when her fighting spirit and willpower weren’t just broken but completely extinguished.

If Mrs Harlow was to live a life of comfort then even if she were

to suppress Ari, it wouldn’t achieve the same results. Under the commands of the Serpent organization, Mrs Harlow could only

Thrilling

Everything was going according to the plan. On the day the Serpents asked her to bring Ari to that old park, Mrs Harlow had fed Ari a strawberry cake that she liked a lot. Inside the cake’s piece were multiple knockout drugs that worked their wonders in just a few minutes.

It did not take long for Ari to fall unconscious after she ate the cake. As it was Mrs Harlow who fed the sleeping drugs to her daughter, no one doubted anything.

After Ari fell asleep, Mrs Harlow took her to the garden and dumped her under the tree for the Serpents to take her away.

She had expected Ari’s abandonment as the end of everything. The Serpents were gone, and so was the baggage that had always been pressing on her airway.

However, things went spiralling out of control when the police turned up on her threshold, with an unconscious Ariana with

them.

The first thing the police officer did was reprimand her for leaving her child unattended, and the second thing was to tell her how difficult it was for her child to return that day. Content © NôvelDrama.Org.

It took everything in Mrs Harlow that day to not scream hysterically. She wanted to tell the police officers that they had f*cked her up, and at the same time, she wanted to drag the old woman from her coffin and shoot her in the head again.

Because of that woman, everything was ruined.

“After that, it was even difficult to let the Serpents take Ari away as someone from the police department would always

make a round at our house in a month or so,” Mrs Harlow shared the information with Ariel who recalled seeing a few police officers coming to their house occasionally.

She thought it was because of the incident at the school, who would have thought that the visits were for a completely

different reason?

“Who was that woman?” Ariel asked, sounding a bit curious.

“Who knows?” Mrs Harlow snorted in disdain and frustration. “All I know is that she was some freaking big shot, as all the news about her was drowned from the news channels in a few

hours.”

She recalled what excuse was given as an explanation and told Ariel, “Yes, it had something to do with her grandson. Apparently, he was there as well when that woman was killed. He suffered some sort of trauma and couldn’t even give his testimony as he was too much in shock. To reduce the pressure on the child, they took the case off from the limelight.”

After she finished speaking, Mrs Harlow then peeked at Ariel and stated, “Now, do you understand why we cannot let Ari divorce Noah? If she stayed married to him, then we wouldn’t have to worry about him touching her. But if Ari is divorced, then she would be like a treasure chest opened and placed in the middle of the street.”

Mrs Harlow slapped her thigh in worry as she moved back and forth, “If she were to get together with another man, then it would be our heads that would be on the line!”

Ariel was still tasting and relishing the sweetness of finding out

that Ari was sold to an old man when she heard her mother’s

shocking words. She whipped her head to the left and questioned, “What do you mean? Why will be our heads on the line? Especially mine, I did not even touch the money.” She only took a few dollars from Ari that she deserved, so why was

her life on the line as well?

“If not?” Mrs Harlow slid from the bed. She glared at her daughter and questioned, “Do you think that all the deals that you got in the past few years were because of your talent? Of course not!” Her voice took a derisive note as Mrs Harlow

continued with her eyes popping out of their sockets, “Those deals were given you by the Serpents, for manipulating Noah into not touching Ari. But if Ari gets together with some other man, then everything will go downhill.”

“Can’t we just tell her that she is sold off?” Ariel said with a

frown on her face and received a smack on the head.

“Tell the neighborhood will you?” Mrs Harlow snapped at her daughter. She knew that Ariel was not smart, but she had no idea that she was this foolish. “Do you think if I were to tell Ari that she was sold to a human trafficking organization when she was just a child, she would just sit back and do nothing?”
