CHAPTER 4- DEATH
CHAPTER 4- DEATH
It was dark and horrifyingly silent, nothing could he heard else than the muffled breathing of a little girl.
Bee was running around to hide from someone; it was lonely and to her eyes nothing was visible than
endless darkness. She tried to call out and seek help but her voice was too parched to call for help,
neither was there a soul to help her out even if she managed to make a noise or two.
Her legs were cramping as her breathing fastened; her body was running out of energy and she
seemed to be at the verge of collapsing. She wanted to stop and lay down but her fear and yearning to
live was not allowing her to slow down.
Who was chasing her? What she was running for? She had no idea, everything that roamed in her
mind was that if she slows down she would die.
Bee ran along the lonely road chasing after a source of light but the more she ran the farther the light
went. Bee couldn’t run any longer and at last broke down on her knees; involuntarily she covered her
tired face with her palm and started to cry.
Her sobbing intensified when she heard a voice calling for her, terrified she looked around to find no
one there. Bee looked up to find the darkness growing towards her; the source of light which she was
chasing was engulfed and the darkness crept towards her. Bee found herself so scared and helpless
that all she could do was cry and close her eyes to avoid witnessing anything more horrid.
After a moment there was dead silence; Bee couldn’t feel anything moving or creeping around her. “Is...
Is it over?” Bee slowly opened her eyes, those beautiful curled up lashes were stick wet of tears. The
crawling darkness came into a halt right ahead of her; nothing else was visible. It was as if she was
locked inside a box with a little bulb suspended upon her.
Bee was unable to judge what was going on around her but she could feel a really disturbing presence
around her; Bee looked up and void slowly calming herself down.
“Who is it? Is... Is anyone there.” Bee stammered, asking slowly at the void.
Bee waited not for too long before she heard the noise of iron being scrapped on the floor; chills ran
down her spine as he shrunk back to herself. She spoke again, asking for the identity of the person.
The scraping was stopped and she was crashed with a wall of silence. It was when a voice as creepy
as old rusted chains asking, “Me?”
Bee could only nod as she was unable to spell out a word n fright. The unknown voice was mum for a
period of second before spelling out an answer which doomed on Bee’s ears, “Your death...”
Before Bee could fully understand what it meant she saw a iron weapon flung on her face.
“Aaahhhhh....” Bee tore open her eyes and attempted to run but only to find herself on her knees,
chained to the wall. She looked around, she was dressed in her slips and skirt, the same outfit which
was worn by her before fainting. Her breathings were heavy and sweat trickled all over her face and
neck; such a dreadful nightmare it was.
Bee closed her eyes and calmed herself down; nightmares weren’t anything new for her. There have
been a series of episode where she would witness herself being killed; what strange about those
dreams were the fact that the identity of the person was unknown and every time she would be hit on
head by an iron weapon. Bee was pissed off by herself, “Such a scaredy cat I am!” Bee mumbled to
herself and it was when she was trying to get up she realized that her hands were chained.
“What... Why... I...” She struggled herself to get rid of the chains which had her clutched tight. Bee was
confused how she ended up here; looking around she scanned the room... or to be precise the
dungeon.
The room which was not larger than 24 square feet had cemented floor; the faintly lit room had nothing
much except for a washing machine and few clothes. Few steps away from her were a set of stairs
which led upstairs. It didn’t take long for her to realise that she was locked in some basement.
Terrified Bee tried her best to jog her memory and recall what all happened when her senses were still
alert. The memeories of that night started to flash in her memory like a movie.
Last night... After cleaning the club she walked up to the bins to dump it like everyday. That was when
she met that wounded man and tried to save him. She slowly recalled everything, to the point where
she was bashed to unconsciousness when she was checking on him.
Is he safe now?
Bee started to worry, thinking not about herself but of the man she met last night. Is he safe and
sound? Where is he now? What about her, where was she?
Bee eyed her chained arms and slowly collected herself; with all her might she started to hell for help
hoping that there would be some good soul who will hear her pelas and might come to help her.
"Help... Please.... Help me! I am down here, help... Please.... Help!"
Bee screamed on top of her lungs, her energy drained off and her voice started to crack resulting for
her to cough. There was no sound, it was as if the building was inhabited by none. Bee bit hars on her
lower lips and looked up at the ceiling helpless.
She didn't want to die out of starvation at such a young age; she has not even driven a car yet.
Bee was mourning to herself when she heard the wooden door crack open and a series of footsteps
descending down. Bee looked at the direction of the noise with eyes which had a bit of shimmer with a
hint of fear.
Coming down from the stairs were three figures.
The first one was tall and bulky man who seemed to be in his mid twenties. He donned a leather jacked
and ripped jeans. His face was partially bearded; his hairs were slightly long for a man which he had
held high into half pony. In his arm was a gun which was enough to scar the hell out of Bee.
Second guy looked a bit harmless; he had an average height and wore a simple black long sleeved
shirt and pants. His hairs were neatly done and upon his nose sat a spectacle. The man looked calm
and collected.
The third one was a woman in biker's gear. Her hairs were pulled up into a messy bun as she walked
on her boots flaunting her perfect curves. There was a little box in one and a bottle of water in her
another hand.
Bee stared at the three faces as her world of fantasies started to act up. These three stood out from the
crowd, they were not like normal Americans you will bump into the streets. Bee has seen many movies
and she immediately recalled seeing such people in Mafia themed movies. People from the gangs
were the one who had such notorious fashion.
Bee chuckled to herself; she must be over thinking... There is no way she will be taken prisoner by Content property of NôvelDra/ma.Org.
some gang. There is no way she is kidnapped...
Who and why will they kidnap a cute little girl like her... Right?
