Chapter 88 en
I miss you so bad
Lexi sat at the door of Beryl’s apartment. He sat on the floor and bowed his head. He was waiting for the owner. He hoped Beryl would come soon.
Lexi’s been waiting for Beryl for almost two hours. Yes, it’s okay if he just sat on the floor and just wore casual clothes. No one knew who he was here, except Beryl. No need to wear a mask. No need to pretend to be happy.
The sound of footsteps approaching. After the elevator door opened Beryl stood in front him with a look of astonishment.
“You’re here?” Lexi looked pitifully at the man in front of him.
In a hurry Beryl desperately wanted to escape from Lexi. However, it’s useless because Lexi nimbly grabbed Beryl’s hand and stopped his action from escaping.
“Wait!” Lexi begged.
“What’s the matter? I have nothing to do with you!” Beryl avoided. Thinking of Jessica who missed Lexi, he felt pity for her. Especially having to face Lexi who had clearly asked for his help to meet Jessica. Beryl felt he couldn’t.
“At least give me a drink because I’ve been looking all over for your place!” Lexi just wanted to talk and needed someone to talk to. It must be Beryl, little did he know about the Kim family. Their residence or information about the Kim family. No matter how small the information.
Beryl finally gave up. He walked to the door and opened it wide to allow Lexi to enter the space of his apartment.
“Sit Down, Sir.” Beryl invited Lexi to sit on the only sofa in the room. The apartment was simple. It has a living dining kitchen.
Lexi sat down and swept his gaze across the room. For the size of a man, Beryl was quite neat. It was visible from the place where the fire lives and did not fall apart. Not only that, the floor was clean. And the things in there were not too many. So it still looked wide.
“I only have this.” Beryl pulled out a medium-sized bottle of soda, he gave it to Lexi. “Please drink, Sir!” he offered politely.
Lexi grabbed the bottle. He opened and then sipped it to reduce his thirst. The longing race that he felt made him lose his thirst and hunger. Only when there was an interlocutor could he feel what other organs felt. For this time his heart was quite selfish, missing Jessica too much.
“Don’t call me Sir! Just call me Lexi!” Lexi leaned against the sofa, looking up and feeling very tired.
“Okay, why did you come all the way here? Where did you get my address?” he asked.
“That’s an easy thing I can do in the blink of an eye! What I can’t do is meet my wife. Can you meet me with Jessica, I feel like I’m going to die. It’s been ten days I haven’t seen my wife,” Lexi complained with his eyes closed tightly. Maybe he was hiding his tears.
Beryl was just listening. He cursed himself. At the moment he had a gap to be close to the woman he once loved. Why should he be in this position? What an annoying position. He felt like a bad person if he just stayed quiet.
“I feel like this is not you I used to know. Why do you become a person who gives up like this!” Beryl joked that he hoped Lexi would be embarrassed and showed the swagger he had always shown in front of the crowd all this time.
“It’s me, Beryl! This is the real me. I’m not a movie actor who can hide my sadness by pretending to smile. Should I laugh at losing my future baby and now my wife is leaving me too!” Lexi protested. He shouldn’t have said this to Beryl. However, he felt very comfortable with the man. Yeah, probably because Beryl was his wife’s best friend.
Beryl was just silent, he felt like a bad person if she saw Jessica and Lexi both suffering while he could do something for them.
“Lexi, ” Beryl said softly.
“Yes.” Lexi looked the other way. He hid his reddened face with teary eyes. He was on the same page as Jessica. Even being in the same city, but still not being able to meet. That hurts.
“I met with Jessica. Her name is now not Jessica but Elsa, Elsa Daniar Kim. Grandson of Fredy Kim. He has two older brothers named Daniel and David. They are one of the richest people in Singapore.” Beryl tried to briefly describe the woman whom Lexi still considered his wife.Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.
The man looked sharply at Beryl. At least he felt on the right path because it came to the apartment belonging to Beryl.
“I’ve been to Mr. Fredy Kim’s house, it’s on the highest roof of one of the luxury buildings! I can’t believe Elsa is the granddaughter of a man who owns such a beautiful penthouse!” Beryl told him. He was hoping that Lexi would give up after hearing his story about Elsa now.
“You kid, yesterday on the phone you said you hadn’t met Jessica and couldn’t meet me with Jessica.” Lexi pointed furiously at Beryl, but couldn’t get angry. He was the only one who could help him to meet Jessica.
“Sorry,” That’s all that came out of Beryl’s mouth.
“Take me to meet her, I will give you everything you want!” Lexi persuaded. It was possible that Beryl would be dazzled by his reward.
“I don’t need money! I just want to see Jessica happy. If I bring you to meet Jessica, it does not mean I want to get a lot of money from you. I just want to see Jessica happy, ” Beryl said.
“But you want to take me to meet Jessica, right?” he asked. He really wanted to meet Jessica as soon as possible.
“Yes, but I don’t promise that in the near future I can make you meet with Elsa, don’t chase me and urge me to make you meet with Elsa. I just have to believe that I will try to bring you all together!” Beryl said.
“Yes, but can I stay here?” Lexi asked. For some reason he felt that only Beryl could understand his feelings at the moment.
“No, I’m not used to living with two other men in the same room. My apartment is very simple and has only one room!” Beryl protested
“The problem is that I have to have someone to talk to. And here in this country, I have no one to talk to but you!” he answered.
Beryl watched Lexi from toe to head. Lexi Ricardo who was currently sitting on the couch in his room was much different from the Lexi he saw before.
“Please sleep here, but don’t come into my room!” Beryl said surrender. It’s not like that with Lexi. It might be Lexi would kill himself if Beryl left alone because Lexi now couldn’t meet Jessica.

Daniel was talking to his grandfather on the rooftop of their building. His grandfather was enjoying the sunrise and sunset in the evening.
“You’ve heard it, right?” Daniel asked. It was he who received a call from the receptionist saying that Lexi Ricardo came and wanted to meet.
Fredy Kim nodded, then took a slow sip of Chamomile tea. “I didn’t expect that young Ricardo would come here so soon.” It was clear that an angry expression emanated from his face.
“What should we say about it to Elsa? I’m afraid she changed her mind and come back for that guy!” Daniel looked down with his right hand and massaged his forehead which felt dizzy.
“No, we don’t have to tell her. Elsa is still unsteady, I’m sure she will run into the man’s arms again. It was hard for us to get her here. We better stay alert, lest we use brute force to keep her here.” Ferdy Kim seemed to already know what would happen in front of them.
“Well, I won’t tell Elsa about this.” Daniel could only obey. His grandfather was good at many things, including guessing the odds of the future. The proof was that several businesses under the auspices of the Kim Foundation and Kim Corporation were growing rapidly and providing many benefits for them.
“What about Elsa today?” Fredy Kim asked. When he saw his granddaughter, he always felt guilty. Guilty in many ways. First, it was too late to find her. Second, he let Elsa meet a man like Lexi Ricardo. And thirdly, he added sadness by forcibly separating the two of them.
“Elsa went to college today as usual, but she still likes to lock herself in her room. She only goes out for breakfast and dinner. She also doesn’t talk much, looks moody and only talks as needed.” Daniel actually didn’t like to see this. However, it was still better than having to give up his sister to become the daughter-in-law of the Ricardo family.
“As long as Lexi is here you have to keep an eye on him. Anyway, I don’t want Elsa to see Ricardo again! You got it?”
“I got it!” Daniel replied.
They also decided to enter. They would have dinner together soon. There were David and Elsa probably already waiting for them in the dining room.
