Chapter 104

The place was stunning. It was a little different from what I was expecting. Honestly, I really did not even know what to expect.

I took in the beauty of the place, breathing in the familiar but seemingly now distant smell of wealth and wealthy people. I watched with awe as the waiters walized around the room in their uniform, all of them moving in the same pace just like they were trained.

I didn’t realise that workers received trainings for everything down to how they walked until I became a**ve at Aston’s. I always thought they were in sync because they were all really good friends or they were listening to some music that the rest of us could not hear and they were all dancing along to it. Oh, how ignorant I was

It was true that you never really knew where it hurt until you put on the shoes yourself. I was getting tired of the shoes though, I wanted it out of my go***mn legs both figuratively and literally

The shoes that Aston got for me were killing my legs and I kept dragging the dress down because it would not stop rolling itself up as I loved, I rolled like a glorified sex worker and the stares confirmed it. The kept turning their head to stare at me and whisper and I could not help but curse Aston for it.

This was probably part of his plan. To ridicule me and make me feel like a ***er. Most of the girls in this place seemed to be dressed even worse than I was and I would not be surprised if they were all h***rs. It wasn’t new that girls came to places like this to find a rich guy to cling to. I was used to seeing things like this at fancy places. What I was not used to was looming like one of them.

I felt like a complete fool as we sat down. I felt like an even bigger fool when Aston told the waiter not to bother getting my order and just serve me the same thing he ordered. He was imposing on me just because he was the one making the payment and ruling my freaking life.

As we waited for the food, I was too embarrassed to look around because I did not want my eyes to meet any scornful ones or even worse, someone that I knew. It would not only be embarrassing, it would be traumatizing and I would probably not be able to be the same ever again.

The food came and I dig in almost immediately, not just because I was starving and I could eat an entire mountain, it was because i wanted us to get the hell out of here instantly.

“Why are you eating so slowly? Do you want the meal to get cold?”

“I was about to ask you when you’re stuffing the food down your throat like the waiter promised that food would save your life”

He returned to eating his food and looking down on his phone completely ignoring the fact that I was right here in front of him. I should have insisted on staying at home instead of following him out here to be ignored.

I didn’t have a choice either, I was close to dying out of hunger and he was offering me free food that didn’t require cooking

I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. Aston, the man I had thought was starting to act right, was telling me that he planned to take a girl home tonight to sleep with her.

I felt a wave of disgust wash over me, like a cold shower on a hot day. How could he be so crass and disrespectful? Did he really think I wanted to hear about his conquests? I didn’t want to, I had already witnessed most of them. I thought about it and I remembered that I used to be on his bed too. It felt like hell having have to sleep with the memory that Aston had managed to get under my pants too. Just the though of it made me ashamed of myself.

“Aston, why are you telling nie this?” I asked, trying to keep my voice neutral. I didn’t want to give him the satisfaction of getting a the out of me because I was fully aware that was what he wanted 1 did not have the slightest idea what he gained from making me tell if making my life miserable in general.

I just wanted your opinion on her,” he said, shrugging “You’re dways so honest with me, I value your opinion.” He was lying his man was the devil’s incarnate.

through his teeth with a smile on his face and I was s convinced that this man was

“I think she’s ugly.” I said, trying to sound nonchalant. I didn’t want to give him the satisfaction of knowing that I was upset. That I was jealous that he was checking out another woman in front of me. That he was looking past me like I didn’t exist and looking at another woman like the goddess took extra time creating her.

I had no reason to be jealous since he was not my mate or anything. He was not even a friend so why the hell would I be jealous? Why would I want to stab said girl with a fork in her eyes,

“What about Mara??” I asked as he pointed his another girl whose legs he would like to spread and stick his rod in-between.

“Leave Mara out of this. She’s never going to find out about this? He answered and I had never been more disgusted as I was when he said those words to me. I hated myself for feeling jealous about whatever the hell that the b***d was doing. F***g cheat!

Aston laughed. “You’re just jealous,” he said, teasing me. “You’re always so jealous when I talk to other women.”

I am not jealous,” I denied, feeling my face heat up. I hated that he could get under my skin so easily. That he could make me feel things whether I permitted them or not. That he could make me hate people that had done nothing to offend me.

“Come on. Kira, admit it,” he said, pushing me. “You’re jealous that I’m going to hook up with someone else. You wish it was

you

“No, Aston, I’m just not interested in your sex life,” I said, trying to sound bored. I didn’t want to give him the satisfaction of knowing that he was getting to me, he was getting to me real bad. I was getting really close to loosing my resolve.

But Aston just laughed and continued to point out women, asking me what I thought of them. I kept telling him they were ugly, trying to sound convincing. But inside, I was seething. How could he be so insensitive and rude?

Finally, he went off and came back with a pretty girl. I felt a surge of anger and jealousy, like a punch to the gut. But I kept my cool. I smiled at the girl and welcomed her to sit with us even though I had killed she and Clyde in my head a million times before their actual death which I was going to make sure that was by my hands too..

“Hi, I’m Kira” I said, trying to sound friendly. I didn’t want to be rude to her, even if I was angry with Aston and I knew too well that Aston only wanted for me to respond in way that would make it seem like I was hopelessly interested in him and 1 was determined to change that narrative.

“Hi, I’m Sophia,” she replied, smiling back at me. She seemed nice, and I felt a pang of guilt for being so angry.Material © NôvelDrama.Org.

We chatted for a bit, and I tried to ignore Aston’s presence. But I could feel his eyes on me, watching my reaction. He was enjoying this, I could tell.

As we got up to leave, Aston turned to me and said, “Thanks for the advice, Kira. You’re always so helpful.”

I just rolled my eyes and muttered under my breath. I was done playing his games.

“Goodnight, Aston,” I said, as I walked away. I didn’t want to spend another minute with him.

“Goodnight, Kira,” he replied, laughing. “Sweet dreams.”

I didn’t bother responding. I just kept walking, eager to get away from him and his games. I was done being his pawn, and I was taking back control of my life.

As I walked away, I could feel Aston’s eyes on me, watching me go. I knew he was enjoying this, and it made me even angrier. But I didn’t let him get to ne 1 kept walking, my head held high and I didn’t look back.

As I shut the door behind me, I screamed my lungs out into the pillow.
