Caught Between The twin CEO

Chapter 9

He looked deep Into her brown eyes, he smirked,

“Are you enjoying this, because I’m not?” She immediately came out of her lost thoughts, batting her eyes repeatedly like a kid, each bat pulling his heartstrings,

“Sorry, Sir.” She abruptly ended the contact, setting her balance.

“Next time, stay 2 meters from me,” He says.” And with that, he walked away without acknowledging her apology,

She gasps,

” How rude.” She murmured, watching him walk away in a coltish way,

“Is he injured?” Arching her brows, she bent to pick up the files scattered all over the floor,

“He’s not even that handsome, bet, his twin is quite handsome” she mumbled angrily, storming to the human resources department to photocopy the files.

“Just my first and I already feel old” she grunts.

She finished up with the photocopy and quickly head over to the department,

“You’re quite slow” the supervisor complained,

“If not for that…..” She froze Instantly, that was her boss, she was about to curse Infront of her supervisor,

“It’s too early to get fired, Sydney.” Her subconscious mind warned her.

“What?” The supervisor asked looking suspiciously at her as she asks all weird.

“Nothing sir,” she added, biting her lower lip in frustration.

The department was full already with were already arriving, the supervisor looked at her,

” You know….” His telephone rang he picked it up, and his tone immediately changed,

” Yes Sir.” Her eyes popped open, it was only the two CEOs he must be addressing as Sir. Her mind had traveled far and wide, thinking of the possibility of the twin she bumped into telling on her to her supervisor.

He dropped the call, then turned to look at her,

“What did you do to Mr. Jaxton? He asked, she stared at him in confusion,

“Why was he asking as if she could tell the twin apart? The more frustrating part was that she doesn’t know with whom she shared a bed and with whom she spilled a drink on, her life was practically a movie, and it was not nice.

“Who?

“Mr. Jaxton? He asked to see you in his office immediately.” She blinked repeatedly, gulping down the saliva down her throat in anxiety,

She was about to gave a nervous breakdown because of these twins that are somewhat her bosses.

” Be going, you’re keeping him waiting. His office is the first door by the left, top floor, and be careful around him, Boss Jaxton tends to be….. Nevermind, just go” He returned to what he was doing,This content © Nôv/elDr(a)m/a.Org.

Confused about what he meant by he was, She entered the elevator to the top floor, soon she was staring at the door, and her body stopped for a while, she had to face any of them from that night no matter how hard she tried to avoid, it seems nearly impossible.

Opening the door, the coldness of the room first hit her making her shudder, the man in the black tuxedo suit, sat with his legs crossed, and immediately their eyes met she gulped down her saliva in tension,

“Sydney Shepherd” he smirked, immediately she recognized he was the one from last night,

“It was you, wasn’t it?” She rolled her eyes,

“Hey, you don’t roll your eyes at your boss, do you want me to fire you?” Not letting her reply he immediately said,

“I won’t do that, I want to watch how far you’re willing to go to keep your little secret. Am still shocked how you’re able to live a lie in the day without feeling any remorse. You do surprise me.”

” Are you going to tell the world what two adults agreed to do?” She was trying to play mind games with him but he seemed difficult to swindle.

” Can’t you keep this little secret of mine?” He smirked, he was going to blackmail her,

” Well, I promise to keep to my end of the bargain if you do yours” she clutched her fist, he was spilling nonsense,

” I don’t care” she turned to leave,

” Do you think Paxton would hesitate to keep you here once he finds out you lied your way into the company? I’ve known my brother for 26 years and the one thing he disposed of more is lying to his face, things could get messy” she shivered inferred, was that how cruel and cold-hearted, Paxton was?

Judging from his reply when she fell, his cold response got to her.

He stood up, and walked towards her, her strawberry perfume, turned him on instantly, he looked at her, stumbling a little bit, he smirked

“How much damage does my presence do to you?” He pushed her hair behind her ears causing her to tremble,

Tears filled her eyes, this was the only good thing that had happened all her life and now when she was getting a hang of that he wants to ruin everything for her.

“Fine, I won’t say anything but it takes a heavy payment to seal my big mouth” and with that, he walked past her to his seat, she turned swiftly to him,

“Go and think about it” dismissing her, she nods, the turns to leave, as soon as she closed the doorknob behind her, she bumped into Paxton, her heart Instantly dropped, and ran a marathon,

The suspicious look on his face was not encouraging,

“Sir..? He cut her off immediately,

“What are you doing in Jaxton’s office? As far as I know, your work here doesn’t relate anything to yours. He narrowed her eyes like he wanted to see through her.

Sydney tried to explain that Paxton didn’t listen to her. Paxton told her not to lag off work. Paxton left and Sydney was relieved Paxton didn’t hear.

Relaxing, she put on a warm smile,

“I mistook your office for his sir.” She replied warmly, almost good enough to believe, Paxton was meticulous in his dealings and often the smart one who solves puzzles and highly calculative life instances, swaying him was not going to be easy, part of her was greatly relieved he did not hear her discussion with Jaxton, meaning she was still safe.

“I don’t need you to get the hell out of my sight.” He cussed, feeling more irritated by her.

“It’s not like you’re handsome anyway” she murmured,

“What did you say?” Almost hearing her say something,

“Nothing, I was just leaving,” and with that, she entered the elevator, still looking at her, Paxton could not shake off this energy he gets from her.
