BILLIONAIRE’S SECRETARY

CHAPTER THIRTY SIX

He replied as he stared blankly at her and watched my every movement.

“Okay, I will start now,” I said as I carefully cleaned up the wound with the stuff I was holding. After that, I cleaned it up again for the second time, but during this period, Mr. Gavriel did not flinch for a single bit.

“You see, I told you it would not hurt you, and it didn’t,” I said as I looked up at Mr. Gavriel, expecting to hear a response, but I did not, I just found out that he had fallen asleep, and I smiled, why?

I brought out the ointment from the treatment kit and rubbed it on the wounded part and covered it with a fresh patch.

Then I covered him with a blanket, kept the treatment kit back in its normal position, and quickly closed the door behind me as I left his room.

I sluggishly walked down to the second floor as I opened my bedroom door and went inside.

I quickly took a cold shower as I jumped on the bed, and shortly afterward my eyes closed as the wind of sleep overwhelmed me.

Nicole lay on the bed she kept turning to different sides because she was feeling so uncomfortable and she did not know why.

Probably because she was worried about her best friend, Christina.

Probably she was worried and angry with herself for not appreciating the man who helped her at the bar when she was drunk.

Probably because she was worried about her job, for which she had been expecting a promotion, but when she got it, it came in the wrong way.

Finally, she lay in a particular position as she faced the ceiling and kept contemplating as tears fell from her left eye.

She hoped Tina was okay over there at Mr. Gavriel’s home, she knew it would be a tough start for her, and she was not there to assist her best friend.

The man who took her in without minding who she was was the bravest person she had ever come in contact with, and she hoped to meet him someday soon. She needed to appreciate him and also buy him breakfast, lunch, or dinner since that was her next method after oral appreciation.

“I wish I could meet you as soon as possible, even if it’s tomorrow, the day after tomorrow, or any day close, I just hope to see you and make it up to you,” she said as she faced the shining moon and stars that glittered on her window glass.

And as for Mr. Gilbert, he should be thankful for the fact that he was a family friend to her parents, if not, she would have filed charges against him for making such a move toward her.

The thoughts were so overwhelming that she got so weak that she closed her eyes and drifted off to wonderland.

Raymond, on the other hand, lay on his bed as he fixed his gaze on the letter Nicole had left behind earlier and wondered when he was going to meet up with her.

He remembered how she smiled, the tears in her eyes when she was at the bar, how fragile she looked when one of those rascal guys pushed her down and the courage she picked up as she fought them back, how she threw punches at him so mercilessly, and how she looked like a child when she was asleep, and now the note she left behind just made him feel that everything he had been working for was already burnt down.

He really needed her in his life, and this was the only moment that would make it work out, and he definitely would not let it go to waste.

‘I believe that we would meet each other again.’

‘I do not care about this scribbled shite that was written on this piece of paper. All I know is that I would meet up with you one day or another, but I know fate will bring us together.’ Raymond said as he lay fully on the bed and closed his eyes as sleep overtook him and he dozed off.

Mr. Gavriel slightly opened his eyes and looked around, but he found out that Christina was gone, and he was through helping himself get treated.

“What the fuck, how did I end up sleeping so deeply again?” I said to myself as I placed a hand on my forehead.

He saw himself covered with a blanket, and he slightly removed the cover as he saw the patched paper on the wounded part of his stomach, and all he did was sign.

He did not know, but he became so angry that he could not see her leave.

She could be sleeping now because she has loads of work to get done.

And that is because she also needs to be available in the office as his secretary tomorrow.

“Even though you have a soft heart towards me, that does not mean I will be soft towards you either. I do not know what you are trying to do, but I must teach you a lesson you deserve, and in your next life, you will never tamper with other people,” Mr. Gavriel thought to himself as he closed his eyes and slowly drifted off to sleep.

“Did you do as I ordered you to?” A woman in her mid-twenties asked with so much vengeance in her voice.

“Yes, ma’am, but I think he survived it because he was seen at work today.” A young man responded with fear in his voice.

“What do you mean by that?” The woman raised her voice at the man.

She had given a simple job to him because he called himself an expert but he turned out to be useless.

“I’m so sorry, ma’am,” the young man apologized.

“Your apologies would not do me any good,” she added as she got up from where she was sitting and picked up a glass of wine.
