23. What Are You Doing In My Room?
Lily furrowed her brow, she swallowed and took a few seconds of thinking on what he said before she responded, “erm… I wasn’t thinking straight then too. Ouch! I’ve really messed up many times before you, sir. Please don’t mind it.”
“Well, I’ll like to,” he said.
Lily’s heart skipped at his words. She immediately let out a dry laugh, “sir… I know you are joking.”
“I’m not.” Alexander answered.
Lily’s face drop, did he really mean that he wants to marry her? “Sir, I have two kids.”
“I already know that.”
“Erm… I’m not mentally capable of marriage now, sir. I’m so sorry,” Lily felt guilty for asking him out then. Truth is, she can’t go into marriage with anyone now.
Alexander stared deep into her eyes for a long time, same with Lily, she couldn’t help but adore his beautiful look.
Whereas, there was Drake Bell who had traced Lily here after the butler informed him that she left home.
Drake Bell who was leaning by his car watched as Alexander and Lily stood very close to eachother, staring into each other’s faces like lovers.
Drake Bell continued smoking from the cigarettes in his hand, watching with a lean and obsessed look and a sad heart, hoping that what happens in movies when two opposite sex are closer wouldn’t happen to them.
When he was done smoking, he threw the cigarette away angrily and continued watching them.
Lily, who was lost in staring at Alexander’s deep gaze thought that sometimes, the perfect way to deal with someone like Drake Bell is hooking up with his uncle. Afterall, his uncle is young but extremely handsome. It was hard for her to say who is more handsome between Alexander and Drake Bell. Both men were beautiful in their ways. It’s just that Lily wasn’t moved by Drake Bell’s handsomeness anymore.
Lily suddenly hugged Alexander, Alexander was taller than her so she had to raise her legs up before she can have her hands around his shoulder. Alexander kept her in his warm embrace dearly. His heart had been empty and void since his ex wife died. It wasn’t like he had any feelings for Lily, he has a reason for wanting to keep her close than she already is.This text is © NôvelDrama/.Org.
Actually, Alexander’s mum was the mistress who ruined Mila’s marriage. Many years ago, Alexander’s mum was sent away from Alexander’s father villa after she was caught a number of times making out with different men. Infact, she was ban from the Bell’s clan for being a disgrace to the clan.
Alexander Bell’s mum left NewYork without her son, Alexander. She was not allowed to take him with her. On getting to another country, she became a thorn in Mila’s marriage. This was why it was easy for Alexander to find out more about Lily’s parents. Alexander hasn’t actually seen his mom in person since she left New York and that was more than two decades ago.
Alexander Bell thought it wise to keep Lily close until he figures out what to do with her. After a couple of seconds, Alexander Bell and Lily disengaged. Lily then bade him a bye and walked swiftly inside.
Just when she got to the door, she saw Ella standing. “Lily, who’s the man you are hugging? Is that your boyfriend?” Ella didn’t recognize the CEO yet as she had not resuned working in her new post.
Lily smiled, her mood had brightened up a little bit, “come, let’s talk.” Lily said and took her inside.
Drake Bell watched as Alexander walked back inside the club but through the second door. Drake Bell would have assumed that Alexander came to the club purposely for Lily’s sake but actually, the club belongs to Alexander Bell but no one in the city knows it. Alexander Bell was a type that likes to keep things secret.
A couple of days later, at Drake Bell’s villa, there sat Amelia and Mila alongside Drake Bell and his mother. After a long discussion between the mothers, they fixed the date of their wedding to be on the fifteenth of the following month.
“That’s fine by you, right?” Lucinda asked Drake.
“That’s fine,” Drake Bell answered. But he was calculating in his head how to escape this marriage.
The mothers have a few more jovial conversation after which Lucinda escorted Mila out. Leaving Amelia and Drake Bell alone in the room.
“Drake, I can’t wait for our wedding day to come…” She smiled broadly and happily.
Drake Bell stood and said, “I have stuffs to do inside.”
Amelia immediately stood and walked up to him, “Drake… You don’t seem happy…” Her face had immediately turned into a sad one.
“You do realize that it’s my mum forcing this marriage, right?” He asked her harshly.
Tears immediately tickle down her eyes, “Drake Bell, but I love you, plus you promise me that we will get married when we were young. Why are you hurting me?”
Before Drake Bell could respond, Lucinda wheeled in. Seeing Lily crying, she quickly moved to her and hugged her, “why are you crying, my daughter?”
“Nothing mum, I’m fine,” Amelia lied. Lucinda looked at Drake Bell and said, “you guys will get married in a few weeks to come, yet you couldn’t stop her from crying.”
Drake Bell sighed, “I have something important to do in my study ” after saying this, he walked away from them.
Lucinda comforted Amelia from crying.
“Mom, why don’t I make your favorite food for you?” Amelia said after she had stopped crying. She didn’t just want to go straight home, she wanted to wait until Lily comes back from work so she can shove it in her face that her wedding date with Drake Bell had been decided.
“Oh okay… but I need to take my bath now, I’ll come back soon to eat it,” Lucinda said.
“Sure mum,” she said and watched Lucinda wheel away. As Lucinda approached her room, she remembered how sweet and loving Amelia was at the time she was dating Drake. She had the sweetest soul and was very respectful. Lucinda had no idea that times had passed and that Amelia had changed. As far as she was concerned, a sweet soul like Amelia is the best gift she could give her son, Drake. She concluded that even if her son doesn’t seem to like Amelia that much again, by the time he and Amelia began to live as husband and wife, Drake would be moved by Amelia’s beautiful character and fall for her again.
Amelia then went to the kitchen to prepare Lucinda’s favorite food. She was doing these to stay in Lucinda’s good book. As long as Lucinda likes her, she stands a chance with Drake Bell.
But as she was cooking, she was setting her ears for any movement in the living room. About a few minutes later, she heard the door open.
She immediately left the kitchen to see whom it was, she was less surprised to see Lily since this was where she lives.
“Lily, guess who is getting married on the 15th of next month?” Amelia said gleefully.
“I’ve told you not to tell me your good or bad news anymore, I don’t care.” Lily said and continued walking into the house. Today was a little bit tiring so she just wanted to go and rest.
Amelia was stunned that Lily wasn’t a bit move by the fact that she was going to get wedded to Drake Bell. Did she really not like Drake Bell anymore or was she just pretending?
Amelia walked quickly after her and said, “Lily, at least we are half-sisters now, you can’t keep acting like we are enemies.”
“I hate to know that it’s the same womb I came out from that you also came out from.” Lily said with a dissapointed look on her face then continued walking but Amelia didn’t stop following her.
When Lily got before her door, she turned to her and said, “do you want to follow me inside my room now?”
“Lily, seems you don’t really want to continue living here, right? Well, I can help you escape this place.” Amelia said.
Lily scoffed, “I know you want Drake Bell so badly and I don’t know how else to scream it to your ears that I’m not dragging Drake Bell with you.”
“Which is why you should leave this house,” Amelia said quickly.
“Well, if at all I want to leave, Drake Bell would be the one to tell me to leave.”
“May I ask why you are staying here?”
“You can ask Drake Bell. You are getting married to him in a couple of weeks, why is it hard to ask him?” She added. ” The last time you came here, you caused trouble, I hope you are not about to cause another trouble?”
Seeing that Amelia was dumbfounded after she had finished speaking, she walked inside her house and shut her door.
Amelia went to check what she placed on fire then went over to Drake Bell’s room. After knocking, the person inside spoke, “come in.”
The door opened and Amelia entered. She was the last person that Drake Bell was expecting. “What are you doing in my room?” He asked seriously.
