Chapter 5 She Won't Sleep with Him
After Ursula and her daughters moved out of the Yates's and lost the protection of the Yates family, the debt collectors became even more unscrupulous. No matter where Ursula and her daughters moved, they would smash and destroy everything when they found Ursula and her daughters and took all the valuable things again after frightening them.
Gwenyth was beautiful, and they threatened to sell her to get the money back.
Ursula could only continue running away with her daughters.
Now, Ursula was no longer in good health as before. She was too tired to run away.
"I'm wondering if we should ask your father for help," she finally said.
She was not confident at all when she spoke.
Upon hearing that, Gwenyth gritted her teeth and said, "Don't ask him for help, never ever!"
Inwardly, Gwenyth added, "He's simply a bastard who abandoned his wife and daughters? How can we beg him?"
"Then what should we do?" Ursula looked tired with tears on her face.
She fell to the ground feebly and burst into tears again with her face behind her hands.
Gwenyth couldn't hold back anymore and tears streamed down her face. She wiped them with the back of her hand quickly and moved the sofa and the coffee table to their original positions. Then, she helped Ursula to the sofa and cleaned up the mess.
After cleaning the living room, Gwenyth looked at the secondary bedroom. It was an apartment with two bedrooms and one living room, which covered an area of sixty square meters. Gwenyth had been living in the same room with her sister.
Gwenyth hadn't seen her sister since she came back and walked towards the secondary bedroom. When Gwenyth turned on the light, she found a pair of bare feet hidden behind the curtain.
Gwenyth walked up and parted the curtain, only to see Susie huddling on the ground with her arms around her knees. Susie's hair was messy like Ursula's, and there were also palm marks on both sides of her face.
Tears welled up in Gwenyth's eyes.
Susie huddled up there, obviously frightened.
Susie had suffered from autism since she was a child, and she couldn't take care of herself. When she had an attack before, she had even hurt herself. Therefore, she was the one who needed the most care in the family.
Thinking of the ferocious faces of those debt collectors, Gwenyth immediately squatted down and carefully held Susie in her arms.
"Were you scared?" She patted Susie's back and comforted her, "There, there. I'm back. Don't be afraid."
"Our mother was bullied," sobbed Susie.
"I know. I'm here. Don't be afraid," whispered Gwenyth.
"Our mother was bullied so much that she cried," Susie continued.
Gwenyth almost burst into tears again. She took a deep breath and touched Susie's head. "Don't worry. I will protect you. Are you hungry, Susie? Shall I cook some spaghetti for you?"
Susie nodded.
Susie had a serious communication problem and spoke very slowly, but Gwenyth knew that Susie knew everything, and the girl was just sick and could not express her feelings like normal people.
"It is cold to sit on the ground. Sit on the sofa and wait for me," said Gwenyth.
Susie stood up as Gwenyth said with her help.
Gwenyth helped Susue put on the slippers and led her to Ursula.
Ursula was getting tired from crying. Seeing that Susie finally came out from behind the curtain, Ursula pulled Susie into her arms. Susie raised her head and wiped Ursula's tears, which made Gwenyth feel bad.
Gwenyth walked into the kitchen to cook some spaghetti, but the pots and plates had been smashed.
Gwenyth had no choice but to order takeout on the phone. After the food was delivered, the three of them ate something together.
At eight o'clock in the evening, Gwenyth lured her sister to sleep. Then he cleaned up the two bedrooms which were in a mess and went to clean the kitchen, getting busy until 1 a.m.
Her wet clothes had already been dried and gotten wet again because she sweated a lot.
Gwenyth wiped the sweat on her forehead, took a nightgown, and went to the bathroom to take a shower.
Since her mother and sister had fallen asleep, Gwenyth didn't use the hair dryer. Instead, she simply wiped her hair with a towel over and over again until it was no longer dripping. Then she lay on the bed to rest.
She was tired, but she couldn't fall asleep.
She thought about what had happened between Edison and Nancy, the agreement, and the group of annoying debt collectors.
She stayed awake until half past three in the morning and finally felt a little sleepy. Then she slept for a few hours, and when the alarm clock rang, she immediately got up.
After a simple freshen-up, Gwenyth went downstairs to buy some breakfast. After taking breakfast home, she grabbed some food and hurried to take the subway to the hotel.
She was on the day shift this week and had to work for eight hours every day from nine o'clock in the morning to five o'clock in the afternoon.
After entering the hotel, Gwenyth inquired at the front desk and learned that the man in the presidential suite hadn't checked out yet.
"Don't you know? That suite is not open to the public. Our president will come and stay there occasionally," the receptionist said in a low voice.
Gwenyth nodded and went upstairs to change into her uniform.
In the morning, Edison didn't ask for any room service. Gwenyth waited anxiously. She thought Edison would order lunch at noon, but he went out.
When it was time for her to get off work, Edison finally went back to his room.
Gwenyth's colleague came on duty. After Gwenyth got changed, she walked towards Edison's room.
She hesitated outside for a moment and knocked on the door.
No one opened the door.
Gwenyth waited for a while and continued to knock on the door.
This time, Edison came to open the door soon.
He was wearing a bathrobe, and his hair was wet. He wiped his hair with a towel with a very calm look as if he was not at all surprised to see her.
"You came sooner than I expected," he remarked.
1.35 million was simply a drop in the bucket for Edison, but it was not a small amount for Gwenyth. As long as she agreed to his conditions, she could get the money in three months. Therefore, Edison believed that she would come to him sooner or later.
"Come in and close the door." Edison walked to the sofa and took a seat. He then took out the two agreements from the drawer of the coffee table and put them on the table with a pen next to them.
Gwenyth was stunned at the door for a few seconds before walking up to him. She squatted at the coffee table and read the agreements carefully.
What she needed to pay attention to was Party B's responsibility, but the agreement didn't make it clear.
She must be on call on 7/24, listen to Edison, and satisfy all his needs.
But what she needed to do was not listed on the agreement in detail.
"Sign it if you have no problem," said Edison.
Gwenyth looked up at him and said, "I have a problem." Content © NôvelDrama.Org 2024.
"Go ahead."
"Do you really want to go out with me or do you just want me to pretend to be your girlfriend?" asked Gwenyth.
"It depends on my mood."
His answer was a little out of Gwenyth's expectations.
"Then what exactly do I need to do to satisfy you?" Gwenyth asked again.
"It depends."
Such an ambiguous answer made Gwenyth a little uneasy. She didn't sign her name in a hurry but put forward her own condition first. "I won't sleep with you."
Edison smiled, amused by her words.
"As long as you promise that we won't have sex, I'll sign it," said Gwenyth.
"No other conditions?" asked Edison.
"Yes."
She just wouldn't sleep with him, and it was her bottom line.
She didn't want to sell her body.
"Okay. Just sign it." Edison agreed readily.
Gwenyth frowned, afraid that she might miss something. She quickly read the agreement again. "It states that you have the right to terminate the agreement at any time. If you ask for it to be terminated, you still have to pay."
Edison nodded and reminded her, "If you don't perform Party B's responsibility well, you have to pay double, and that's 2.7 million."
"I know."
"Is there any problem?" asked Edison.
Gwenyth kept silent with a serious expression. She stared at the pen in her hand and gritted her teeth for a long time. Finally, she held the pen in her hand.
"I still have something to say," she said.
Edison dried his hair and combed it with his fingers. Then he leaned against the back of the sofa in a laid-back manner and said, "Go ahead."
"Now that I don't need to sleep with you, does it mean that I'll pretend to be your girlfriend in the next three months?" Gwenyth asked.
"You can think so," responded Edison.
"You're using me to irritate Nancy and make her agree to marry you, right?" Gwenyth asked again.
Edison's face turned cold. He didn't answer her question but warned her seriously, "You have no right to ask about my private affairs."
