Sofia’s pov
Aria gave up the ghost at 12:01a.m, on a Wednesday morning.
I never really knew Aria, except the fact that she’s related to Luca and grew up with him, along with him
promising to introduce us to one another once she gets out of the hospital. And even though I never
knew what she looked like, it never stopped me from getting a little excited at the thought of her finally
getting out of the hospital, even though I had no idea as to why she was in the hospital in the first
place. NôvelDrama.Org content.
Luca never liked to talk much about things related to his family, and I refrained from bringing anything
relating to that most of the time.
And now; this morning, when Luca and I had been preparing for bed, he had gotten a call which then
relayed the news to him that Aria had given up the ghost.
“Are you okay?” I asked, reaching for Luca’s hand and cradling it in mine. After the news had come in,
Luca had gone rigid in an instant, which had alerted me in an instant that something bad had definitely
happened. I had feared that he’d push me away and perhaps shut me out, but he entwined my hand
even though he remained silent, because frankly, it’s obvious that he is anything but okay.
I tugged him towards the bed and pushed him down until he laid down, feeling grateful that he was
letting me do this, because on a normal day, I was no where near being strong enough to do this.
Luca’s face was completely blank, and his eyes were frighteningly cold as he stared straight ahead.
The look in his eyes made me suppress a shiver, which I pushed away in an instant, reminding myself
that the look in his eyes right now isn’t directed at me.
I crawled into the bed with him, feeling grateful that we had already both prepared for bed. I retrieved
his phone and placed it on the bedside table, beside his guns and knives, and then I tugged the blanket
above us.
I tugged his head against my chest, stroking my fingers through his dloghtly wet hair while trying to
comfort him silently, because from the look of things, I wasn’t sure he’d appreciate words right now. He
clearly appreciated the touches right now, because he wrapped his hands around my waist firmly and
buried his head against my chest even more, fingers clenching and unclenching every few seconds.
I knew Luca was emotionally connected to this Aria, it was so damn obvious, telling from how affected
he is right now.
He didn’t shed a tear, or let out screams of anger. He didn’t do any of that, but if anyone was a little bit
smart, from a single glance, they’d be able to pick up how extremely angry he currently is, which
prompted me into remaining completely silent as I tried my best to comfort him.
After a few minutes, his voice broke the silence, completely catching me off guard.
“I’m going to make those bastards pay.”
His voice was cold and alarmingly low as he spoke, reminding of how scary and dangerous Luca is.
“They’re going to pay for this.” He said once again, and that was it.
I swallowed emptily after some time and breathed out a few words, meaning them from the top of my
heart.
“I’m so sorry.”
“Don’t be. It’s not your fault.” His voice was gruff as he spoke. “It’s those bastards’ fault and they’re
going to pay for this.”
“Blood for blood.”

Armani was just as devastated when he heard the news, and I engulfed him in a long hug, comforting
him as best as I could.
The house was extremely sad that morning, and throughout the entire day. Luca stayed at home, but
was in the office most of the time. I tried to get him to eat but it was fruitless.
That evening, I was in Armani’s bedroom with him and that was when he made me understand
something.
“Luca practically raised Aria.”
“Oh.” I blurted, not expecting that at all.
“Yeah, and that’s why he’s this affected. Luca only cares about a few people in the world, and she’s
definitely in the top three. Do you get the picture now?” He continued and I nodded my head slowly,
and felt my heart ache even more.
“She was the baby sister he never had, you know? He loved her so much. He was ready to do anything
for her.” Armani explained, eyes downcast.
“Without you being in the picture, she was the only female he gave a fuck about.”
“Oh.” I whispered once again, hastily wiping the few tears drops off my cheeks. Armani chose not to
point them out as he continued.
“Do you know that Luca broke a guy’s hand while we were growing up because of her? The dude
touched her inappropriately and Luca did that to him as a lesson. Luca almost drowned a kid who
bullied her at school. Luca is ready to drop everything at any time for her. He cared for her so much, he
loved her more than life itself, and she grew up seeing him as some sort of god, because he was
always there for her.”
The more Armani spoke, the more I realized just how much Aria was connected to Luca, and why her
death affected him this much.

The funeral was very solemn and sad, and everyone was dressed in black, it felt like I was being
suffocated in sadness in that moment.
This is the second time I’d be in the same gathering as Luca’s family members, the first time being our
wedding day, I’d have love for the reason for us all being gathered here wasn’t a sad one.
I was extremely nervous about being in the midst of a family who clearly are not in complete good
times with each other, and Luca had held my hands the entire time, and I’d like to reassure myself he
did that for strength and not to remind me that nothing’s gonna happen to me.
The funeral was very brisk, and even though Luca had to pour the first sand as someone whom Aria
loved the most, Luca’s fsce was completely blank throughout the entire thing.
He didn’t shed a single tear.
I never met Aria but I still manage to sob throughout the entire thing.
Death is indeed a sad thing and I’d never wish it on anybody.

As we exited the gathering, Luca asked that I accompany him somewhere, and this time, he drove.
We arrived in front of a big looking house after about an hour time. Luca tugged me into the compound,
uncaring of the guards positioned around the house who bowed in fear on noticing our presence.
Luca ordered for two men to emerge from the house, whom he shot dead after they knelt on the ground
as ordered, to my utmost shock.
In bed that night, he informed me that the two guys whom he had killed were the reasons behind Aria’s
death. Not knowing how to respond to them, I apologized over and over again while comforting him as
best as I could.
A dry chuckle left his lips after some time as he spoke.
“I wonder how James is currently coping.”
