CHAPTER 16

3rd POV

“Alpha Derek! I’m the one!” Omega Sim yelled, falling to the ground, shocking both Alpha Derek and Lady Emily.

“You say what?” Alpha Derek démanded.

“I… I was the one who poisoned Lady Annabelle and her maid with the wolfsbane, and I’m also the one who… who locked them up in the abandoned room,” Omega Sim cried.

“Omega Sim!” Lady Emily managed to say the moment Alpha Derek released his hold on her neck. “What are you doing?” she whispered.

“So you’re the one? Are you sure of what you’re saying, Sim?!” Alpha Derek snapped.

“Yes… Yes, Alpha…”

“Sim!”

“You know the consequences of your actions, don’t you? You locked up an important figure in the castle and also tried poisoning her along with her maid. What you did calls for beheading!”

“Have mercy, Alpha!” Omega Sim cried, tears gushing out of her eyes.

“Alpha Derek, please have mercy on her,” Lady Emily begged, following along, knowing fully well what her maid was doing.

She hoped deep down in her heart that Alpha Derek would have mercy, but if not, she was proud of her maid for taking the fall for her actions. It showed how loyal her maid was to her.

She knew if Omega Sim didn’t take the fall, she would have pinned it on her, because she wasn’t ready to take the punishment for what she committed. She was an important figure in the pack and her life was way more important than some omega in the pack. It was the duty of her omega to take the fall for what she committed.

She smiled weakly at her maid, who was still crying.

“Derek… I didn’t know when she did what she did. If I had known, I would have punished her almost immediately, but I didnt know.” Then she faced Omega Sim, “Why would you do such a thing?!”

Omega Sim was shocked but knew she had to play along to save her Lady’s life.

“I… I’m sorry, Lady Emily…” she cried, hoping deep down that she would be spared, but from the look of the Alpha who appeared outraged, she knew her life was at stake.

“Mike!” Alpha Derek called the attention of another guard who was standing outside Lady Emily’s room.

“Take her to the castle’s dungeon!”

“Please have mercy!” Omega Sim cried, holding onto Alpha Derek’s leg and also Lady Emily’s leg.

“Leave my leg, you filth! You didn’t know what you did would bring shame to me and would cause you more harm than good?” Lady Emily snapped as she used her other leg to push away Omega Sim’s hand that was holding her leg.

“Take her out this instant!”

“Yes, Alpha!” Guard Mike saluted, dragging Omega Sim out of the room while she wailed profusely.

The moment Omega Sim was carried out of the room, Lady Emily released a sigh of relief.

“Will you have mercy on her?” she asked Alpha Derek, but he didn’t reply.

“I’m so sorry I failed to train her well…”

“You should always watch out for your maids even in the future. You don’t know what they might do behind your back someday,” Alpha Derek replied as he moved to walk out of her room.

“I’m sorry. I’ll try to train her well if you forgive her.”

“I won’t ever forgive her for what she did. She will be beheaded for her actions, and that will be her punishment.”

Lady Emily felt bad for Omega Sim but again, as a loyal maid, Omega Sim was destined

Alpha Derek didn’t reply; instead, he walked out of her room and straight into his own.

When he entered, he was shocked to see an empty room.

“Anne” He called for her but got no reply. “Where could she be?” he asked himself as he made his way out of the room, heading to her room. On getting there, he met Guard Zach, who was holding a gift bag in hand.

Alpha, this is the dress…

“Great” He collected the gift bag from him and made his way to Annabelle’s room.

He knocked once and opened the door. He wasn’t too surprised to find her there along with her maid, conversing. He noticed that the moment he entered, she stopped the conversation she was having with her maid, but he didn’t mind.

Annabelle was in her room along with her maid, and when she caught sight of Alpha Derek, she stopped the conversation she was having with her maid.

“Anne. I’ve been looking for you. Didn’t I tell you to stay in my room?”

I’m so sorry, Alpha, but I feel more comfortable here,” she replied, hoping that he didn’t overhear the conversation she had with her maid.

“Oh alright… here” He passed the gift bag to her. “This is what I want you to wear for the party.

Annabelle collected the gift bag from him, a small smile on her face.

“You’re welcome. He checked his watch, “We have less than five minutes before the party starts. Get dressed as soon as you can. I will be waiting for you.”

“Derek…” Alpha Derek corrected and winked at her, making a blush creep up Annabelle’s face.

“Ahhhhh!” Omega May screamed in excitement the moment Alpha Derek left the room. “He’s so into you!”

“You think so?” Annabelle asked, the blush on her cheeks increasing tenfold.

“It’s so obvious and I felt myself getting hot…” she fanned her cheek.

“Alpha Derek is so into you, my Lady, and I will make sure that I dress you up so beautifully that he won’t be able to take his eyes off you tonight!”

Annabelle sighed. She realized she was already falling in love with Alpha Derek, but she didn’t think her heart would be able to trust any other man again.
