Chapter 163

Rachel Grey sat in Old Mr. Johnson’s car. Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.

She looked at the slightly gloomy old man and called out softly, “Grandpa.”

“Why did you not call me when such a big thing happened?” Old Mr. Johnson snorted angrily, but he couldn’t help but look at her worriedly and with a wrenched heart.

Rachel Grey sensed that the old man was not really angry, and a bright smile appeared on her face. “I am just afraid that you will be worried, Grandpa. Besides, look at me now, I’m fine.”

She reached out and wrapped her arm around the old man’s as she spoke. She leaned on his shoulder and said softly, “Grandpa, do not be angry. I promise there is no next time.”

Old Mr. Johnson lowered his eyes and looked at the girl leaning on his shoulder. In Old Mr. Johnson’s eyes, Rachel Grey looked like his precious. daughter snuggling in his arms lovingly.

His cloudy eyes flickered slightly as he raised his hand to stroke her soft hair. “You look exactly like your mother.”

Upon hearing this, the smile on Rachel Grey’s face faded a little.

It had been a long, long time since she had heard anything about her mother.

Whether it was the two uncles in the family or her maternal grandfather, everyone kept their mouths shut about their mother. It seemed that only then would they forget the cruel fact that their mother had passed away.

“Grandpa, do you miss her?” Rachel Grey held the old man’s hand and asked softly.

Unexpectedly, the old man shook his head. “In my heart, she has never

left.”

Not long after returning to the Johnson family’s mansion, the other three men of the Johnson family returned as well.

The three of them got to Old Mr. Johnson’s study.

The old man was looking up at an oil painting hanging on the wall while

pressing his hands on his walking stick.

The painting depicted a forest in the sunset. There was a moose standing at the entrance to the forest as if it was suggesting people to follow its footsteps, or warning people not to try to break into the forest.

There was a strange sense of incompatibility in the beautiful painting.

This painting did not come from any famous artist. Instead, it came from the Johnson family’s most beloved Sophia Johnson.

Tom Johnson, the eldest son in the family, broke the silence. “In order to avoid unnecessary trouble for Rae–Rae, I have already wiped out all data.”

“Have you investigated the matter regarding the reporters?” Old Mr. Johnson turned around and casually glanced at the three men standing in front of him.

Adrian Johnson said. “They said that they were following orders given by Olivia Cruise.”

Old Mr. Johnson sat on the chair and placed his walking stick aside. He fiddled with the jade ring on his thumb and said coldly, “Since you have the answer, you know what to do next, right?”

With the Johnson family’s identity and status, the Cruise family’s existence was too insignificant to draw their attention.

However, Olivia Cruise’s malign intentions targeted at Rachel Grey served the former pernicious consequences to bear.

Olivia Cruise thought all her evil deeds were done privily. Little did she know there were no secrets in Seaxas and the Johnson family!

Adrian Johnson nodded. “The Cruise family will be in the headlines

tomorrow.”

His calm tone was terrifyingly firm.

In the business industry, only very few of those experienced ones are free from crooked thoughts and intentions. The Cruise family was one of the wiliest ones. Back then, it was not pure luck that allowed them to survive the financial crisis unscathed.

Old Mr. Johnson looked up at Lucas Johnson. “Resolve Vince’s matter as soon as possible, just in case.”

“Yes, Sir!” Lucas Johnson replied.
