Becoming a Teacher
On a public bus, there were two men who were talking about the person they just met, Mr. Kevin, the former boss of Gifer who asked him to manage his company again. Actually, Gifer wanted, really wanted to accept the offer. That way, his economy while in the city of Jakarta can be fulfilled properly. He could even transfer money to his parents in Kendal. But after the accident? Gifer couldn’t do anything anymore. As a CEO, he was no longer as perfect as he used to be, full of charisma. Now? He can no longer see. Let alone typing, even being able to read is very grateful. Gifer is still insecure about his surroundings knowing about his condition. He didn’t want to be pitied, he still wanted to do many things, but not to return to Raya’s father’s company. His ego dominated him not to return to the company again. Even when she was humiliated in the media, she still didn’t accept it. How could Mr. Kevin ask her to go back there? What the hell was that?
Gifer sat on bench number three close to the bus window, facing the view outside the bus, yes even though he couldn’t see the good view outside, all he saw was black. While Haris sat next to Gifer, close to the people standing next to him.
“Gif, why didn’t you just accept Kevin’s offer?” Haris asked curiously, if only Gifer had been able to forgive Mr. Kevin, he should be willing to simply return to the company and become CEO there again? Thinking of many ways to attract the interest of the clients in the company, and many more.
“You must be wondering and curious about the reason why I don’t want to go back, right, Ris? You know, I’ve already forgiven him, but the hurt of being publicly humiliated is what makes me still not want to go back there.” Gifer explained. Yes, Haris understood that incident, the incident where Gifer was publicly humiliated because of the company that was piggybacking on Mr. Kevin’s main company.
At a big office event, which was a meeting with a big client from the United States to invite cooperation, at that time the clients were Gifer and Mr. Kevin, all the media highlighted them enthusiastically.
“How’s Mr. John? Do you agree with our offer?” Gifer asked. Mr. John nodded his head and pointed at the consent list to sign.
“Yes, I agree, this way we can work together right?”
“Surely that means this is a deal, right?”
“Yes, thank you.” They shook hands after agreeing to the cooperation between the companies. That’s where the incident started.
Mr. Kevin started talking to Mr. John and Gifer who was next to him just smiled politely. Reporters began to approach and ask questions to the three of them. But unfortunately, Mr. Kevin’s answer really made Gifer disappointed and wanted to leave the client meeting immediately.
“Well congratulations, Mr. Kevin, now you have agreed with this American client to invite cooperation between companies. Then is there a plan for the ‘Shinning Doll’ company and the GF Corp company to cooperate as well?”Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.
“Ah, about the GF Corp company, actually the GF Crop company is still mine. It’s just piggybacking on my company, so it can’t stand on its own, how could it become big if it wasn’t funded by me? That’s the truth.” Knowing that unpleasant answer, Gifer was already holding back his emotions. How could he not? In the past, Mr. Kevin said that no one should leak this matter to the media or any source, but what? He was the one who leaked it. Consciously or unconsciously Gifer still didn’t care and now he was really angry. His hands were already clenched tightly wanting to vent everything, but he had to hold back because he realized that this was still an important and formal event. He just didn’t want to ruin the official event that had already hit his solar plexus.
“You’ve even watched the video, right, Ris? I don’t even want to watch it anymore, it makes me sick,” Gifer slightly turned his head towards the man with the square smile.
“Yes, Gif. I understand,”
“Uh Gif, we’re almost there by the way. Let’s prepare for the descent,”
“Ah, really? Alright, you step aside first.”
The two of them stood up and started walking towards the bus door with Haris holding Gifer’s hand so that his best friend wouldn’t take the wrong path to get off. They got off the bus and walked towards Martin’s ‘Ability to Read’ foundation. Yes, both of them decided to work as tutors, both private and joint. Gifer served only those who specialized in reading, while Haris did the writing. They had also agreed to share the profit when it was payday. But for Gifer, even though his salary is not as big as when he was a CEO, at least he is happy because he hears the voices of little children who are enthusiastic about being able to read and certainly does not make him depressed like when he was a CEO.

Before you know it, it was getting late in the afternoon, the sun was slowly starting to hide itself in the distant valley. There were two beautiful girls who had just returned from work. They took the public bus in the center seat, number four, as usual to get to their apartment. At that very moment, there were two men who had just boarded the bus and sat on the number two seat.
“Vin!”
“Hm?”
“You didn’t see that guy again?”
“You mean Gifer?”
“Yes, he’s the only one who’s upset you so far.”
“Hahahaha, no, Anggi. I don’t know where he went either. He could be doing that crazy thing again. That’s his only goal. He’s a stone man, doesn’t believe in God and doesn’t understand the true meaning of life,” Belvina’s words made her interlocutor frown.
“Ah, really?”
“Yes, Anggi. Try meeting him just once. Bah, people are hard to say, very annoying anyway.”
“Hahaha, be careful.”
“What the heck?”
“Usually, if you hate each other like this, it could be a match,”
“Hahahahahah, where is this term from again, bestie? Don’t make it up, Gi. Hahahaha, you’re making it up, Gi,” Belvina laughed out loud while holding her stomach on the bus because Anggi’s words just now made her stomach shake violently from laughing.
“Ye, you said it too, you don’t even believe it,” Anggi was annoyed, surprised by her best friend.
“Yes, you say that, after all, for example, if I’m with him, united, every day instead of making love, being intimate, there’s even an endless debate. And I don’t like guys who always argue about trivial issues like Gifer,”
“Hahahaha, we’ll see what happens in the future,”
“Hahahahha, alright.”
Belvina and Anggi got off the bus, accidentally crossing paths with the blind man she often met with her best friend who was still sitting on the bus. Both of them did not realize it and just got off.
