Chapter 571 Is That Fair
Chapter 571 Is That Fair
Thinking of what had happened last night, Jean blushed red as a cranberry. She touched her forehead
where Zed had kissed her and felt as if it was still wet and warm.
Suddenly, her heart gave a thump and she was thrown out of her musings. She got up hurriedly and
went into the washroom.
She was wondering whether Avery and Moore were awake or not.
'They are probably still asleep. After all, they hadn't gone to bed until the wee hours of the morning, '
Jean thought as she freshened herself up in the bathroom.
Anyway, no one was working harder than Zed these days for her. He went to bed very late last night,
but had gotten up so early today for his work.
All because he had to take good care of his big company. In people's eyes, he was a successful and
glamorous man but only she knew just how hard he was working everyday behind that success.
Jean sighed. Then she took out a white cotton suit from her wardrobe and got dressed before going Belonging © NôvelDram/a.Org.
out.
When she was just at the top of the stairs, she saw Moore and Avery come out of the guest room. More
importantly, it looked like they were coming out of Avery's bedroom together.
Totally amazed, Jean looked at them and asked, "You... Why are you two coming out together?"
"Jean, don't take this the wrong way." The expression on Jean's face made Avery's s cheeks blush.
She hurriedly explained, "I forgot my cell phone charger. I was afraid that my phone had stopped
functioning so I asked Moore to check it out for me. It turned out that my cell phone was dead."
After saying that, Avery felt a little embarrassed. After all, she had made a stupid mistake.
"You don't have to explain it to me." Jean nodded with joy in her heart.
Her cell phone had died? Well, that was really a good and suitable excuse for Avery, the super star.
After all, her assistants were the ones who took care of her daily life, so she didn't have to worry about
trivial things like her charger.
Jean thought of yet another excuse to make the two of them spend time together.
She opened her mouth with a smile on her face, "I think you must be hungry now. Let's go downstairs
and eat something. It's long time for breakfast."
"I've just woken up and don't want to eat right now. Don't wait for me. You two can go down and eat
something first." Without saying anything more, Moore directly walked toward his room.
"What's wrong with him?" Confused, Jean looked at Avery and asked.
Avery shrugged and threw up her hands. "I have no idea. I too felt that he was quite silent this morning.
The Moore who had spoken up for me last night has disappeared again."
"Then let's forget about him now." Upon hearing Avery's words, Jean took her hand and replied, "Let's
go and have some breakfast. He will come down once he is hungry."
"Really?" Avery worriedly turned around to take a look at Moore's room.
"Yeah, it's okay," Jean assured. Then she held Avery's hand and slowly walked downstairs.
"How is your foot now? Do you need any help climbing down?" Seeing that Jean was walking with a
slight difficulty, Avery hastily asked.
A startling thought had just occurred to Jean. She looked at Avery and asked, "Do you want Moore to
eat with us?"
"Of course." Upon hearing what Jean had said just now, Avery nodded and replied, "To be honest, I
remember that Moore is a very cold and distant man. You know, like, someone I can't relate to. Hence,
when I heard him ask Adolf to give me some time so that I could rest, I was so happy."
"Don't be sad. There are three days ahead of us and I'll do my best to make him spend time with you,"
Jean said with a smile on her face, trying to make Avery feel better.
"Jean, are you serious?" Avery asked in surprise, looking at Jean.
"Yeah." Jean nodded at her. Then she whispered with Avery.
Avery's eyes shone up and she looked at Jean grateful for her help.
Jean nodded at her in return. Then she stood against the wall, looking at Avery with a smile on her
face.
Avery also smiled. She turned around and quickly ran towards Moore's bedroom.
Moore went onto the balcony. Looking at the yard, which was bathed in the sun, he felt very upset.
So many years passed, he thought Avery didn't have any feelings of love for him anymore.
However, what had happened in the morning made Moore know he was wrong. In the morning, Avery
went to his bedroom to tell him that her cell phone was broken, but she didn't know what to do with it.
He could see her trust to him in her eyes.
Moore's heart gave a horrible jolt.
From Avery's eyes, he could tell that she was still in love with him, which had made him want to
escape.
He couldn't understand why, even so many years had elapsed, Avery still was in love with him.
'Why can't she just forget me?
Four years ago, I was so cold to her. Didn't she get that?' thought Moore.
Four years ago, he didn't love her at all. Now, it was the same as before.
Till now, he seemed to understand why Avery insisted on taking several days off.
But...
He did know Jean well. He knew she wanted to make a match between Avery and him. Thinking of
what Jean had done yesterday, Moore felt very sad.
Jean's influence made Avery daring enough to seize any opportunity to get access to him.
When he came out of Avery's bedroom, he had seen Jean's eyes shine, which had made his heart
sink.
He loved Jean. So he could just stay by her side as long as she was happy.
However, Jean wanted to make a match between him and another woman. When he knew her plan,
Moore found that he was not strong enough to pay no attention to it.
What Jean was doing made him frustrated and desperate.
Without doubt, he knew that Jean didn't mean to hurt him. But her plan had really hurt him. What's
worse, he couldn't tell her about it, because he loved her so much and wanted her to be happy.
'If it is her hope to fix me up with Avery, should I just do as she wanted?
Can I accept Avery as my girlfriend just in order to let Jean feel relieved?
But that is unfair for Avery, isn't it?
No...' thought Moore.
He felt confused and painful.
He didn't want to do anything against his will. And he also didn't want to hurt Jean and Avery.
When he was still struggling with it, there was a loud knock on his door. Avery anxiously cried, "Moore,
are you there? Jean's foot is still hurting, so it is really hard for her to go downstairs. Can you help
her?"
Moore quickly calmed his face before opening the door. Looking at Avery, he frowned and asked, "She
was okay just now, wasn't she?"
"Yes, but only for the flat road. As for the stairs, she can't manage it by herself," Avery explained to
Moore, forcing a smile.
"Well, I got it. Let's go." Moore sighed, turning around for the outside.
After hearing Moore's answer, Avery looked delighted.
Jean's plan worked. 'She is a very smart and kindhearted girl, ' thought Avery.
When Avery was still lost in her admiration for Jean, Moore suddenly turned back. So he saw Avery's
smiling face.
He was dazed for a moment with a complicated look on his face. Then he looked at Avery but didn't
say anything.
"What do you want to say?" Avery was an excellent actress. She quickly calmed her face and asked
Moore.
She was perfectly composed and made it as if the person standing there with a smug look on her face
just a minute ago was someone else.
"Nothing." And then Moore looked deep into Avery's eyes. The look on his face became colder than
before the moment when he had turned back.
Moore murmured in his mind, 'This looks like another one of Jean and Avery's clever
plans.'
