Chapter 356 Love In Silence
Chapter 356 Love In Silence
"Oh, I see!" Jean smiled shyly and looked at Moore mysteriously. "Moore, what if I tell you that Zed
didn't believe in the video which was posted on the Internet and trusted me from the very beginning?
Would you believe that his indifference, alienation and cruelty to me were all a method to protect me
from the people doing this? What do you think of it?" asked she.
When Moore heard this, he frowned and gazed at Jean thoughtfully. After a while, his eyebrows slowly
loosened again. This time, some doubts in his mind were immediately cleared.
"I see," he replied, pretending like he was thinking deeply. To be honest, Zed never seemed like a cold-
blooded man. And somewhere deep down, Moore always had his doubts.
Before this revelation, he thought the whole thing looked extremely strange. He also knew that Zed
couldn't have been such a bad man, since Jean had loved him a lot. The idea of a man changing
overnight had shocked him.
But until today, Moore hadn't realized that Zed had done all this to protect Jean. Now the puzzle was
fixed and things became clearer.
'But did Zed's efforts become useful in the end?' he wondered.
Now Moore looked up and saw the happy smile on Jean's face, and that's when Moore realized that it
did have a good effect. And the incident did not seem to affect the feelings between the couple.
He felt a little sad at once. 'If it had been me, would I have done it like Zed?' he questioned himself.
'No, even though I knew it would be dangerous, I wouldn't have let her stay helplessly, all alone in the
hospital. Her condition was fragile, without any dependence. I couldn't bear to see her like this, '
answered Moore's mind.
According to him, Jean deserved care and love. The fact that Zed let her suffer angered him.
'But I will never have the chance to take care of her.'
Moore realized with a bitter smile and sadness on his face.
"Moore, are you all right?" Jean questioned when she noticed Moore was taking time to answer this
simple question. When she saw the expression on his face, she felt worried and scared.
"Nothing. I was just surprised." Moore hastily replied, and hid his sadness. He gazed at Jean softly.
"Now that the misunderstanding has been cleared up, may you both love each other and be happy
forever from now on." he smiled.
"Thank you, Moore." Jean instantly had a big happy smile on her face. She looked at Moore and
sincerely said,"I also wish you a speedy recovery. Then you can find your beloved girl early and lead a
happy life too."
Moore grinned bitterly but nodded. "Okay, I'll be happy, too."
"Yeah, all of us will be happy!" Jean smiled genuinely and joyfully.
Seeing the happy smile on Jean's face, Moore's bitter smile deepened.
'When did I discover my feelings for Jean?' thought Moore.
'Is it when I opened my eyes and saw her crying with joy?
Or was it when I felt distressed as I saw that she was ignored and insulted by Zed?
Or just now when I came to know that she had returned to Zed?'
With these thoughts swarming in his head, Moore couldn't help hence he closed his eyes painfully.
Slowly, he turned his head and dare not look at Jean again.
In fact, he had the urge to go as far away from her as possible. This was torturing him more than he
expected it to.
As soon as he knew that he had an immoral feeling for her, his first thought was to escape it.
And the only thing he could do was not to see her, preferably never.
So he had pretended to get angry just now, just to make her leave him. He realized that staying with
her would double his feelings for her.
But he did not know why his heart suddenly softened when he saw her clumsily leaning over to pick up
the fruit on the ground.
Since he could not be rude to her, his only choice was to suffer in silence. Even though he knew that
his love was hopeless, he still stubbornly wanted to stay by her side and look at her from afar. As long
as he could see her happy smile like this, he would be satisfied.
He knew it was foolish to do so, but he could not get back the feelings he had already given.
Feeling defeated, he sat there, looking lost.
"Moore, what fruit would you like to eat? I'll peel it for you." Jean said, bringing him back from his
sorrowful reverie.
Moore looked at a variety of fruits in the fruit basket with a complicated look. He finally whispered,"Just
a pear."
"Okay." Jean took out wet wipes and wiped her hands first. Then she picked up the biggest pear and
skillfully began peeling.
Looking at her intent face, Moore looked away in embarrassment. After a long silence, he asked,"Jean,
now that you're back to Zed, you don't need to go back to the Wen Group, do you?"
"No, I still have to go back." Jean looked up at Moore. "Why do you ask that? Don't you want me to go
back there?" she asked earnestly.
"I heard that Henry has woken up." Moore looked at Jean and said.
"Oh, he finally woke up." Jean looked at Moore and laughed. "I thought he was going to pretend to be Copyright Nôv/el/Dra/ma.Org.
in a coma for a few more days so that he will completely recover when he wakes up. I didn't expect him
to let Joy know he is awake so early."
"Even if he is awake, he can't get out of the bed." Moore sighed and continued,"Once the news that
Henry is awake is known by the Wen Group, it's bound to be a big storm. So, I still want to advise you
to be on the safe side. Don't get yourself in any sort of trouble. If you really want to get justice for your
mother, you'd better ask Zed to help you!"
"No, I have to go back to the Wen Group myself." Jean handed the peeled pear to Moore. "That's my
determination. No one can stop me," she said earnestly.
"Thank you." After wiping his hands, Moore reached for the pear. He gazed at Jean with a complicated
look and finally shook his head. "All right! Now that you have made up your mind, I'd better not
persuade you anymore."
"Moore, I knew you would support me." Jean instantly smiled and felt good hearing he wasn't forcing
her to do anything. "Taste it and see if the pear is sweet or not."
Moore looked at Jean's childlike smile in silence. Knowing that he couldn't change her mind, he could
only take a bite of the pear, and then he nodded. "It's sweet. You bought so many fruits that I can't eat
them all by myself. So why don't you help me?"
Jean nodded and took an apple out of the basket. As she peeled it, she smiled,"Did the doctor say
when you can leave the hospital?"
"Just in a few days," Moore answered. While he was eating the pear, he suddenly remembered
something. Then he looked at Jean with a serious face. "By the way, Leo called me last night," said he.
"Leo?" When Jean heard this, she stopped. Then she looked at him in surprise. "What did he say?"
asked she.
"He said that he has been following Lance secretly. Several times he noticed that Lance seems to be
trying to contact someone. But unfortunately, Lance is so cautious. Leo gets disturbed every time he is
close to seeing who that helper is. Now Leo feels certain that Lance may have something to do with the
video."
Moore said while he frowned. At the thought of someone trying to hurt Jean, his heart could not help
but tighten, and his mood also became somewhat sensitive and tense.
"Well, Lance must have something to do with it." Jean sneered when she heard this. "Moore, let Leo go
on keeping track of Lance. If he finds anything, let us know immediately."
"Okay." Moore nodded in agreement. "Although the rumors about the video have been cleared up and
you are also proved to be innocent, the person behind it still hasn't been found out. And Lance is the
only clue now."
"Yeah." Jean sighed heavily and looked at Moore. "Moore, if something happens to me one day,
remember to leave H City. Go far away and never come back."
"What did you say?" Moore looked at Jean in shock. "Did you find anything? Or are you just
kidding?"
