Arrogant Man VS Unyielding Woman

Chapter 354 All Those Old And New Grudges

Chapter 354 All Those Old And New Grudges

As soon as Benjamin heard that Jean was going to visit her friend in the hospital, a strange feeling

arose inside him immediately.

He thought to himself, 'Just aright now, Jesse said she had something to deal with, and now Jean is

going away as well. What's going on?'

He stared at Jean in suspicion but seeing nothing special or unusual on her face, he turned

questioningly towards Zed.

Zed noticed his grandfather's reaction and immediately understood that he was confused. Walking up

to him with a bitter smile, he tried to explain on Jean's behalf,"Grandpa, Jean ran over a guy several

days ago and she hasn't visited him recently since she has been so busy. Last night, she decided that

she would go to the hospital today, so..."

Benjamin was shocked by his words. He stared at Jean and asked,"Jean ran over a guy?"

Jean offered an awkward smile and swore a thousand colourful words towards him a hundred times

over in her heart.

She thought to herself, 'He could have told Grandpa a billion other excuses. Why the hell did it have to

be running someone over!'

Since Benjamin now believed that, she had no choice but to sigh and reply,"Yes, Grandpa. I ran over a

guy. I'm not really good at driving, you know. It's lucky that the guy survived and is recovering from his

injuries, so I want to visit him today."

Since Jean explained this clearly, Benjamin thought that the car accident wasn't very serious.

Or, Zed and Jean wouldn't be so relaxed as they were right now.

The thought seemed to satisfy him and he was relieved at once. Looking at Jean, he advised her with

concern,"You should drive carefully in the future."

Jean sweetly replied,"Yes Grandpa. I will."

Totally satisfied now, Benjamin told her to hurry. "Since you've planned to visit him, go on. But

remember to come back early."

Jean replied,"Yes, Grandpa." Jean was relieved since Benjamin didn't stop her from going to hospital.

So she cutely said,"Grandpa, Grandpa Dan, Zed will be with you. You guys have fun in H City this

afternoon. I'll come back as early as possible and I'll cook dinner for you."

Dan laughed and said,"Go on girl. If you don't leave early, how are you planning on coming back early

too?"

Jean nodded and gave them a wave,"Goodbye!"

Seeing that Jean was almost besides the door, Zed hurried told Benjamin,"Grandpa, I am gonna walk

her out."

Benjamin waved his hand to Zed and replied without a glance at him. "Go on."

Zed lightly nodded his head and quickly walked out.

Benjamin shook his head with a sigh. "Look at today's young men. They don't even want to be apart for

a second," said Benjamin when he kept on drinking his tea.

Dan nodded and agreed. "You're right. They're nothing like we used to be when we were young."

Zed kept walking and finally caught his wife at the door of Safwan Restaurant.

Jean saw him and, throwing a little attitude, gave him a cold question,"Why did you follow me here?"

Zed asked worriedly,"Are you really going to the hospital to see Moore? I can drive you there."

Jean thought it was funny and asked,"Zed, what are you worried about? And in any case, Grandpa is

still waiting for you back in the restaurant. How can you drive me to the hospital? Just go back and

entertain Grandpa. I can get a cab to the hospital myself."

"Oh." Zed seemed to remember something and hastily took out his wallet. Pulling out a black card, he

handed it over to Jean, telling her,"Take this card..."

When she saw that black card, she was immediately reminded of how poorly she had been inside the

hospital and felt quite sad. So she looked at Zed with a hint of anger.

Taking the card, she asked unceremoniously,"Will you find some other excuse to take this back again?"

Zed could sense that she was teasing him and sighed helplessly. "Look, it was the situation at that

time. It couldn't have been avoided. You understand, na? Don't worry. I am never going to take that

card back again..."

"That's great!" Jean waved the card in front of him and told him with a grin,"Then I get this card forever.

You'd better get back to Grandpa now. I have to leave..."

Zed said with concern,"Okay, be careful on the road."

Jean was about to walk ahead but then she thought of something and looked around. After that, she

turned to Zed with a puzzled look and asked,"Where's your man? Is he still around me?"

Zed sensed her confusion on her face. He wanted to deny the fact but he finally nodded his head.

Jean was puzzled and asked,"Zed, why do you send people to follow me?"

He replied,"I've told you before too. That guy isn't following you. He is there to protect you. I'll tell you

the exact reason after you come back. Just go now." Then he softly pushed her ahead.

Jean looked increasingly sour. She gave him a glare and said,"You better have a good explanation

Zed, or considering all those old and new grudges, I'm certainly going rogue this time. Don't blame me

if I do!"

Then she strode on, reached out an arm and hailed a cab.

When he had finally seen her safe and comfortable inside the cab, Zed took a deep breath, turned

around and walked back to the restaurant.

Inside the cab, Jean was biting her lip deep in thought.

Zed had stressed that the guy around her was not there to track her, but to protect her.

But she wasn't sure whether to believe him or not. Exclusive content © by Nô(v)el/Dr/ama.Org.

Jean sneered at such protection. Zed was only a businessman. She could understand that he had

hired several bodyguards to protect himself, but there was only one guy protecting her. And if he didn't

show up in front of her, she wouldn't even know where that guy was.

That guy was a professional and was good at hiding. So he must be legendary and strong.

Jean wondered whether Zed had offended some powerful guy and he had carefully hired such

professional bodyguard to protect her.

She was quite confused. But then she thought that ever since they had been married, they had been

with each other everyday and she had never seen him offend anyone.

It seemed like he was hiding quite a lot of things from her.

Jean wanted him to be completely honest with her and tell her the truth completely, or else she was

bound to have a heart attack sooner or later.

Jean bought a fruit basket specially when she reached the hospital and then walked towards Moore's

hospital room.

Walking inside the nostalgic and familiar hall, she suddenly had a strange feeling.

Two days ago, she had been in the same place as now, and at that time, only Moore and Zed had been

with her. But Zed had put on a poker face for her and it seemed like they were both strangers that time.

After that, Benjamin had come to meet her and Zed had changed his attitude towards her.

Even though they cleared up all the misunderstandings, was the wedge in their hearts also sure to

disappear now?

Jean clearly knew that some uncontrollable things had happened and it was impossible for them to

pretend like they hadn't.

And that was the reason Zed was being so much more considerate towards her these days.

And she was also dealing much more carefully with their relationship.

They now even wanted to have a baby more intensely and passionately.

But none of this could bury things that had happened in the past.

Both Zed and Jean knew that clearly, but they couldn't frankly admit that to each other.

When Jean reached Moore's hospital room, she forced her thoughts back, calmed down and knocked

on the door.

A familiar voice quickly answered from inside,"Come in please."
