A Successful Career After Divorce

Chapter 84 Ranita Is So Good at Making People Angry

“For Stuart’s Corp, finding a replacement within a month is more than sufficient,” Ranita declared confidently.

Brendon seethed with anger. Was this woman really leaving him just like that? Was she planning to run off into the sunset with her new man?

Brendon chose not to respond directly but instead changed the subject. “Did I call you last night when I was intoxicated?”

Brendon had dreamt of gentle spring breezes, only to wake up in the middle of the night, drenched in sweat. He spent an hour in a cold shower to regain his sobriety.

Upon checking his phone records, Brendon vaguely recalled dialing Ranita’s number and saying something about wanting to sleep with her.

“I did receive your call,” Ranita confirmed, causing Brendon’s face to flush crimson.

“Did I say anything peculiar?” he inquired.

“No! Mr. Stuart, you dialed my number by mistake and promptly hung up once you realized it,” Ranita explained, pausing to observe Brendon uncertainly. “What did you intend for me to hear?”

Brendon found himself at a loss for words.

However, he began to question whether last night’s events were merely a dream after all.

“Mr. Stuart, what are your thoughts on my proposal? If you agree, I’ll accompany you on this trip. Otherwise, I’ll return home and rest.”

The corner of Brendon’s eye twitched slightly – it was the first time someone had dared to negotiate with him! This woman had grown bolder!

“There will be substantial compensation for terminating our agreement.”

“That suits me perfectly since I have received plenty of money from you. It won’t affect me financially,” she retorted. All the money belonged to him. It flowed out of one pocket and returned to another. And she wouldn’t lose anything anyway!

Brendon was taken aback by how infuriating Ranita could be.

“At most, one month in advance,” Brendon pursed his lips. “If you calculate it, there’s just a little over a month remaining until the end. Can’t you wait that long?”

She couldn’t wait any longer.

“Mr. Stuart, you’re asking for too much!” They had initially agreed on three months, but now ten days had passed since then. If they reduced it to one month, she would only have to endure an additional twenty days before gaining her freedom. But now it had become one month and twenty days – an agonizingly long wait!

“But you also made significant demands,” Brendon sneered coldly. “One month earlier is acceptable. If not, you’ll have to face financial consequences!”

One month was still better than nothing!

“Deal!” Ranita gritted her teeth and agreed.

Caleb drove the car while the two of them sat silently in the backseat, not exchanging a single word throughout the entire journey – which made Caleb uneasy. This belongs to NôvelDrama.Org: ©.

Upon arriving at Boulderland Mansion, Brendon strode ahead while Caleb quietly asked Ranita, “Miss Bowman, are you alright?”

Caleb was aware of her divorce from Brendon and worried that seeing him with Shannon at Boulderland Mansion might upset her.

“I’m fine!” Ranita replied, strolling along and admiring the brightly colored flowers illuminated by the lights. “These flowers are so beautiful!”

Previously, when she entered and exited Boulderland Mansion every day, she always felt tense and never relaxed enough to appreciate her surroundings like this.

“They truly are stunning,” Caleb inwardly sighed. If she still had the time to admire flowers like this, maybe things weren’t as dire as he thought? He just hoped today’s confrontation wouldn’t escalate into something violent or unpleasant.

“What are you two whispering about?” Suddenly, Brendon halted and turned around, wearing an unhappy expression on his face.

Ranita was lost in the beauty of the flowers when she suddenly collided with a man’s arm, causing her nose to throb with pain, nearly bringing tears to her eyes.
