Chapter 75 Dealing with Villains without Hesitation
Carl ended the call, his face filled with concern as he turned to Mia. “Mia… Ranita wants you to call her directly!”
“Mia, I understand you’re sensitive, but we really messed up this time! You should reach out to her yourself. We’ll apologize and explain the situation. Even if our friendship doesn’t continue, it’s better than carrying this guilt forever!” Carl pleaded, hoping Mia would agree.
Mia nervously bit her lip before finally conceding, “Okay, I’ll call Ranita myself.”
After Carl left, Mia wasted no time in updating Holly about the situation.
Holly couldn’t control her emotions upon hearing that Mia hadn’t made plans with Ranita yet. “Mia! You’re such a disappointment! I invested so much money in you, and this is how you repay me?”Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org exclusive © material.
Mia, despite her intelligence and pride, hailed from a humble village. Being called a disappointment by Holly deeply wounded her self-esteem.
But that money was something she could never earn through a lifetime of hard work!
“Don’t worry, Miss Stuart! I will definitely make plans with Ranita. Just give me a little more time.”
“Hmph! You have three more days. If you mess up again, I’ll deal with you myself!” Holly angrily hung up, leaving Mia to light a cigarette. At this moment, she questioned whether her actions were right or wrong, but what other choice did she have?
She was different from Ranita.
Ranita never spoke about her family, but her demeanor hinted at a privileged background, perhaps growing up in a middle-class environment. Unlike Mia, she was the only one from their village who had attended college. Over the years, she had worked tirelessly, sending money back to support her fellow villagers.
On the surface, she appeared glamorous, admired by everyone for establishing her own studio at such a young age. But little did they know that her house, car, and luxury items for business meetings were all rented…
Nothing truly belonged to her.
Meanwhile, her parents continued to blame her for living a comfortable life without helping her struggling relatives who had contributed to her education and hometown.
And now, even worse news arrived: her father had suffered a brain hemorrhage, requiring a significant amount of money, coincidentally when Holly approached…
In the hospital room, Dylan praised Ranita for her response to Mia and Carl’s betrayal. “You handled them perfectly, with the right tone and attitude,” he commended, giving her a thumbs up. “You can’t be too nice when dealing with people like them.”
Although Dylan also knew Mia and Carl, he was surprised by their betrayal of Ranita.
“I’m not naive! I know what I’m doing,” Ranita confidently replied before instructing Dylan to grab a lemon candy from her bag.
As he peeled the candy for her, Dylan asked where she got it. “Dr. Pearson gave it to me!” she replied, chewing on the candy.
Dylan raised an eyebrow suspiciously – Steve gave it to her? He couldn’t believe how gentle and considerate Steve or Chris could be around Ranita, especially since they were usually difficult to deal with.
“Why are you looking at me like that?” Ranita teased, catching him staring. “Is it because I’m too good-looking?”
Dylan laughed and playfully poked her forehead with his finger. “What kind of dream are you having?”
