Chapter 461: She Is Safe with Him Around
Chapter 461: She Is Safe with Him Around
He worries about her and strides towards the bed.
As he reaches out to lift the quilt, he turns the phone screen towards the ground to prevent the light
from hurting her eyes.
After the quilt is thrown back, he sees Lily curling up and trembling with her head buried on the pillow.
She is obviously frightened.
He whispers, "Lily, it's okay now."
A few moments after hearing his voice, Lily raises her head, slightly pale with fear.
At the sight of Louis who is standing beside the bed, she is surprised for a moment and then tentatively
reaches out to grab his hand. Feeling the warmth of his palm, she can't help but throw herself into him
arms, her eyes brimming with tears.
"I ... I'm so scared...." she sobs shakily. It can be seen how afraid she is. "I accidentally dropped my
phone just now. And it's thundering...."
Louis' heart aches as he notices that Lily is still trembling in his arms.
He places his hand on her back and strokes her, comforting her in a soft voice, "I'm here. You're fine
now."
Suddenly, there come two claps of thunder outside. Nôvel(D)rama.Org's content.
Then Lily hugs Louis more tightly.
Louis holds her for a while and asks after she stops trembling, "Do you have any earplugs?"
"There seems to be some in the drawer."
Louis shines the flashlight on the bedside table and searches the first drawer. After he finds the
earplugs, he put them into Lily's ears.
In case she can't hear him, he leans closer and asks, "Are you feeling better now?"
The thunder sounds fuzzy as Lily wears the earplugs, so she is finally not that scared.
She hears Louis' question and nods, "Why do you come to me? How did you get in?"
"The power went out and it keeps thundering. Even men will be scared, let alone you." They're so close
that Lily can feel his breath as he speaks. "Didn't you hear the sound of me kicking the door?"
"No."
The thunder is still ringing in her ears even though she has covered herself with the quilt.
Besides, she was affrighted by the swaying shadows of lightning on the curtains just now and kept
telling herself to calm down. So how could she hear other noises?
Abruptly, Louis stands up. Lily hastily grabs his arm and asks, "Where are you going?"
"I'm going to find your phone." Louis hands his phone to Lily and says, "If you're scared, take my phone
with you. I can look for your phone with a lighter."
Lily is relieved, "No need. I can shine the light on you."
As Louis is looking for Lily's phone, Lily shines the light on him to help him find the phone.
Although the light around her is dim, she isn't afraid at all when staring at him.
Soon, Louis finds her phone.
He tries to turn the phone on.
It works well.
"You phone is fully charged. Perhaps it's because it fell heavily on the ground that it switched off."
With the earplugs, Lily can't hear him clearly from a distance. Thus, she looks at his mouth to guess
what he is talking about.
Seeing that Louis successfully turns the phone on, Lily knows that her phone is fine. Then she tenses,
worrying that Louis will leave her alone since her phone isn't broken.
After Louis comes over, Lily immediately grabs his arm and softly whispers, "Don't leave. I'm scared to
stay here alone."
What if her phone battery is dead and the power isn't back on before she can fall asleep?
"Alright." Louis weakens at the sight of her frightened expression and decides to stay, "I won't leave."
Lily instantly moves inside and makes room for him, "Get on the bed, so I can hold you."
Louis laughs and takes off his shoes, climbing into the bed.
Lily moves closer but only pulls his clothes with her hand, indirectly keeping some distance from him.
Louis notices this and doesn't say anything. He calls the owner of the homestay family, but nobody
answers. Then he calls Director Jarvis.
After getting through, he asks Jarvis what happens to the electricity.
Jarvis replies that the cable seems to be damaged by lightening, so the power in this area is off. People
from the administration of power supply will repair it tomorrow.
Louis asks, "Have you called the owner of the homestay family?"
"Yes, but no one answered," Jarvis said, "A temporary worker in the restaurant also lives on the second
floor. He told us that the owner's wife was feeling unwell, so the owner took her to the hospital in the
rain."
Jarvis continues, "Mr. Smith, did you go to see Ms. Lily? It's so frightening that thunder keeps striking."
Louis glances at Lily who is texting beside him and says, "I'll go to see her later."
"Mr. Smith, do you want some candles? How about I ask someone to bring you a few candles?"
"No need. I have enough battery power on my phone."
After hanging up, Louis leans towards Lily.
Afraid that she can't hear him with earplugs, he whispers in her ear, "The power won't be back on
tonight. You can go to bed."
Lily is replying to Chandler's message when she suddenly feels warm breath pouring into her ears. She
hears Louis' voice and hurriedly raises her head, meeting his dark eyes.
A few seconds later, she asks, "What did you just say?"
"The cable is burnt out, and the light won't come back on tonight," Louis repeats what he has just said.
His eyes sweep her and finally fall on her lips.
They're very close, so her face and lips are also close to him.
With her mouth slightly open, Louis can vaguely see a few white teeth and her tongue.
"Alright." Lily lowers her head to send messages, oblivious of his loving eyes.
After sending the message, she looks up to ask Louis if he can leave after she falls asleep. However,
he suddenly leans over and kisses her.
Louis holds the back of her head with his hand and kisses her passionately.
Lily catches his scent, her heart beating violently. She enjoys the kiss and can't help but wrap her arms
around his neck. As a result, they become closer, able to feel each other's breath.
Gradually, Lily lies down on the bed.
She touches his Adam's apple and sees the surging lust in his eyes. Then she instantly comes to her
senses and remembers that she is having babies now.
If she takes off her clothes, he will for sure find out that she is pregnant!
When Louis kisses her again, Lily slaps him on the face in panic.
Louis is confused and stares blankly at her.
"I ... I'm a little sleepy," Lily stutters and covers herself with the blanket. "Besides, we've already broken
up. You can't kiss me without my permission...."
Louis fixes his pitch-black eyes on her.
Lily is a little frightened and pulls the quilt over her head.
Perhaps because of the earplugs, she hears nothing from outside.
After a while, she pulls down the quilt and finds Louis sitting there with his legs crossed. He seems to
feel her gaze and looks down.
Louis glances at her and says, "Go to sleep."
Isn't he angry?
Lily feels relieved when discovering that Louis isn't mad.
She rubs her face against his chest and smells his scent before closing her eyes and sleeping
peacefully.
She isn't afraid with him around.
...
After a long time, Lily is awakened by a loud bang.
