A Doll for the Boss

My wife!

After reaching an agreement, he abandoned me. It had been five days without seeing him, and the truth is that I didn't miss him. I didn't understand why I was counting the days of his absence, my brain was obsessed with keeping track. I had decided to leave my old world behind, my beloved flower shop, my dream of becoming a landscape architect. I was starting from scratch, the only thing that really mattered to me was getting out of this prison, leaving this man behind and getting lost far away.

It had been two weeks since I found out I was pregnant. I needed to make sure everything was going well, so I searched on the internet and found the number of the best gynecologist in the country, Maricel Beron. We had scheduled an appointment for two o'clock in the afternoon, and the mansion's chauffeur would take me there. Thank God I was not forbidden from leaving.

I hadn't heard from Omer, the doctor who had helped me. I hoped he was alright.

I decided to wear a comfortable summer dress. I didn't want to wear too much clothes, as I knew I would have to undress for the examination. I tied my hair back in a ponytail and looked at my reflection in the mirror. I was paler than usual, which intensified the red color of my hair, red like hell.

When I was ready, I called Alfredo, the chauffeur. He looked at me without any expression, only opening his mouth to ask for the address.

"Where are we going, ma'am?"

"Take me to Brigham and Women's Hospital," I indicated without greeting him. The truth was, the man didn't even look at me.

He didn't say anything and drove through the city in silence. My gaze was lost in the landscape until a voice snapped me out of my daydream. "Ma'am, we have arrived."

I looked at the place, it was an imposing building. From what I had read, it was one of the best. If Serkan wanted this child, he would have to pay for its well-being. I checked my wallet and took out the black card he had given me when we got married.

The chauffeur helped me out of the car, like a princess. If I weren't so sad, I would allow myself to enjoy the luxuries, but this was just the facade where my buyer had me.

"I will take a bit longer, you can leave. I will call you," I said.

"As you wish, ma'am."

I entered the building and the receptionist pointed me in the right direction. I was on the 8th floor and there was no one else around. It seemed that each patient had their own appointment time, and this was mine.

I walked confidently towards the secretary's desk.

"Good afternoon, I have an appointment with the doctor," I said, feeling a bit nervous. I never thought I would experience this moment alone and under these circumstances. I didn't even know who the father of the child was. "Tell me your name, please," she replied.

"Samantha Ferner."

"Wait a moment, please take a seat."

I watched her disappear into the office. Not even the sound of a fly could be heard, everything was a little eerie. The minutes felt like eternity, until she finally came out.

"Go on in, the doctor is waiting for you."

I would be lying if I said I wasn't terrified. My legs were shaking, but I had gotten myself into this situation alone, so I had to face the consequences as well. I walked into the office and opened the door. At first, I thought I was seeing things, but then it was confirmed.

"You're late, dear wife," his voice settled in my stomach, as if I had eaten an elephant. I felt like throwing up, and the world was shifting beneath my feet.

I felt my body being caught by strong arms, and the scent of his perfume enveloped me, reminding me of the first time we were together, that night at the club.

"Darling, are you alright?" he asked in a concerned tone.

Damn liar!

"Excuse me, I just felt dizzy. What are you doing here?" I asked, disguising my anger. All content is property © NôvelDrama.Org.

"I left the office early, I wanted to surprise you. Dr. Beron is lovely."

I fixed my gaze on the doctor, who smiled confidently.

"Good afternoon, doctor!" I greeted as Serkan let go of me.

"Good afternoon, Mrs. Ferner. If you still feel unwell, you can take a seat. If not, you can go and change. My secretary explained the process to you before you came. Your husband is also aware, so he could help you. Feel free to do as you wish."

I looked at her hesitantly, and then at him. He seemed calm.

"I'll help you, darling. Let's go," he guided me to the bathroom.

"I can do it alone," I said angrily.

"I know you can, but I want to help. The truth is, I have to take care of my child."

I looked at him furiously and ripped the gown from his hands.

"Leave, I'll dress myself."

"No, ma'am. I already said I would help you. Don't force me to misbehave."

I decided not to fight him anymore and took off my dress. I let him help me put on the gown, but there was something in his eyes that made me nervous.

"Stop looking at me like that."

"Anyone would think you're ashamed."

I looked at him with the desire to kill him and walked out of the room.

"I'm ready, doctor. What else do I need to do?"

"Follow me this way. We will see your baby. According to the information you provided, you should be one or two months along, so we will do a transvaginal ultrasound."

I settled on the examination table and followed the doctor's instructions. I felt a little discomfort, but tried to stay calm. The screen lit up and I could see the image of my little baby.

"Here's your baby," the doctor said with a smile.

I looked at the screen with excitement and astonishment. It was incredible to see how much my little being had grown in such a short time. I felt a mixture of happiness and sadness at the same time. Happiness to see my son or daughter healthy and growing, but sadness for the situation I found myself in.

"It looks good, doesn't it, darling?" Serkan said as he took my hand, genuinely excited.

I nodded with a slight smile. Despite everything, I couldn't deny that this little being was a part of me and filled me with love. No matter the circumstances, I would take care of him or her.

The doctor continued with the examination, making sure there were no complications. Serkan was attentive to every movement. His eyes widened in astonishment when we heard the sound of our baby's heartbeat, letting us know it was real and there.

After the check-up, the doctor prescribed some vitamins and gave me some recommendations for a healthy pregnancy.

When the appointment was over, I left the office with Serkan by my side. We both remained silent as we walked towards the car. I didn't know what to expect from him at this moment, but I knew I didn't want to continue living in this emotional prison.

"Samantha, I have something to tell you," Serkan said in a serious tone.

I looked at him with curiosity and a little fear, as I could expect anything from this man.

"I have thought a lot about everything that has happened and how I have treated you. I can't change the past, but I want to do things right from now on. I want to be a good father to our child and I want to be a part of your life."

I looked at him not knowing what to say. Despite everything that had happened, I couldn't deny that Serkan could be this child's father. But I couldn't forget all the pain he had caused me.

-I need time, Serkan. I can't promise you anything right now. But I can assure you that I will do my best for the baby, because whether you want to assume it or not, there is a chance that it might not be yours.

Serkan looked at me with understanding and nodded, but just as I was about to say something his face changed, he stared behind me.

-You were going to meet him here," he shouted angrily as he grabbed my arm.

-What are you talking about? Let go of me," I answered as I tried to turn around to see what was going on, but it wasn't necessary.

-He told you to let go, you are deaf, you always have to hurt her," shouted Omer while he punched Serkan, who let go of me to dodge the attack.

-Don't interfere, she's my wife," he said while looking at me with hatred, "Were you going to meet him? You are a fake, a woman of the bad life, with you you can't let your guard down, traitor.

I didn't know how to answer, I didn't have time to defend myself, because the only thing I saw was a ball of arms and blows, I wouldn't stay to see this disaster, I ran out of the place.
